This was our last stop in Twentynine Palms before heading back to Nevada. It was a great place to end our stay in the area. Walking in, it looked a bit like a fast food spot, but it is, in fact, a sit-down and order type restaurant. It also seems to have a good take-out option. We were greeted immediately upon entering and were invited to sit wherever we would like. Everything looked clean. Nothing fancy, but it felt welcoming and comfortable. I had a Denver Omelette with a side of hash browns and an orange juice. The omelette was good and nicely rolled with lots of ham and sweet green pepper and cheddar cheese. I had a side of English muffin. the only quibble was the hash browns could have been a little crisper and the muffin a little more toasted. I would definitely recommend this for a simple no-frills breakfast spot with friendly service, reasonable prices, and good food.

While vacationing at Joshua Tree National Park (which was also GREAT), we ate twice at this restaurant! Fresh food, freshly and quickly prepared in a clean facility. Great burgers, French and sweet potato fries, wonderful catfish sandwiches! Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can’t gowrong here! Eat in or takeout. Food and service , EXCELLENT!!!

We ordered blue cheese hamburger and tuna melt. Food was good and service was quick and friendly. Only thing though is we had a tummy ache afterwards we don’t know if it was from the food we ate here.

My husband, sister-in-law and I dined here once while in town. I had chicken fried steak with lots of white gravy. The meat was fine. I had baked potato with sour cream and butter. My zucchini had grill marks but seemed steamed and soggy; it came with soggy grilled red pepper. I didn't like the veggies but the side salad was large and good with ordinary ingredients of lettuce tomato cucumber. My husband had fish and chips. He did not like its breading, but the fries were fine. My sister-in-law ordered a hamburger and was happy it came well done as requested. Her fries were fine. We split a lemon cake. It was very good. I liked the filling. I didn't like the whipped topping which seemed artificial. The server brought us dessert but did not take away our dinner plates. We put them on a different table to make room to share the dessert. This seems like a good place to come for breakfast with a variety of egg, waffle and pancake offerings. I was not thrilled with our dinners.

Hello,Over the past year, I've come to visit my brother here in 29 Palms. He really enjoyed going to John's Place. I enjoyed the food there as well. My brother likes Green Tabasco with his meal, John's Place does not supply Green Tabasco, so my brother would bring his own.On one visit as I was leaving town, Itook it on myself to go get two different kinds of Green Sauce and take it to John's Place with the instructions to have on hand when my brother came in for Breakfast. On my next visit, again we went to John's Place. I asked my brother if they gave him Green Sauce. He said no. I couldn't understand that. So when we were leaving I asked the manager/owner who was the person that accepted the Green Sauces I brought in originally, if she ever gave my brother the Green Sauce, she said no. So I said, "Can I have them back then?" She looked where she put them when I gave them to her, and said they were gone. She and my brother talked, and we walked to the car. The owner came out of the restaurant and had words with my brother. I was in the car so I didn't hear what was said, but could tell it was irritated talk.I feel that John Place stole from me. They had several opportunities to return the Green Sauce to me or my brother, but did not do that. What has happened to 'The Customer Comes First'?And for the owner to deliberately come out of the restaurant to give her 2 cents, and have the last word, that's terrible customer service, especially to a loyal customer, that came to eat breakfast everyday, and lunch & dinner many days. When I returned in December 2022 to visit. I was so happy to hear that my brother, nor his friends, go to John's Place anymore. The only way for some Business Owners to get the point sometimes is through the pocket book. And just to let you know it isn't that usual for restaurants to have Green Tabasco on hand for customers to use, C & S in Yucca Valley & Denny's in 29 Palms provide it.Thanks for Listening,

Well regarded local diner chain found in Yucca Valley and this store in 29 palms. The burgers were very affordable and generous. I enjoyed the fried zucchini. The building was an old KFC so the décor felt like fast food, but the meals came on plates with flatware. The staff was kind.
