The landscape is absolutely stunning!

In the middle of Joshua Tree National Park. Toilet available. No connections whatsoever. No cell phone reception. It's best to book in advance. All places were occupied. Good privacy. All places close together and yet separated by bushes. Very nicely laid out. Table and fire pit/grill available.

A fantastic place to enjoy the desert sunsets and stars, though not the quietest campground around. Bring plenty of water.
Beautiful campground
Perfect place for night sky
This was one of the coolest campsites I've ever been to! The sites are right in the boulders, nestled between huge rocks and Joshua Trees. Nice firepits, tent sites, picnic tables, and parking spots at each spot. There are bathrooms but no water. Some of the most beautiful stargazing I've ever seen, with AMAZING views of the Milky Way!
Beautiful place in the middle of nature. A great night sky. You have to reserve online in advance because there is no network there. It's best to load maps offline. There are PIT toilets with toilet paper. Water is only available at the entrance to the park. You can also hear wild animals at night. The sunrise is worth seeing. Skul Rock is a few minutes away by car.
Beautiful, peaceful
It's a nice place, but you need to be aware of the context. There's no water at all. It gets extremely hot at day and pretty cold at night. There are possibly dangerous animals like snakes, scorpions, and spiders. Once you keep this in mind, the landscape is surreal!

Love this campground. My family's favorite inside Joshua Tree National Park. Have grown up camping at Jumbo Rock and love hiking thru the boulders.
No cell service
This campground is really awesome! We spent 2 nights here. It is big, plenty of space for your RV, tent or car, but you must secure your spot in advance. It is quiet, but alive, we’ve seen various small animals too. As a bonus, you can find Penguin rock here.
No water, no nothing… A beautiful place in the middle of rocks. big rocks.
Beautiful natural campsite without facilities between the large "jumbo rocks". The campsite is an attraction in itself. The children loved climbing on the large stones. The pitches are large and the large stones make you feel like you are alone at the campsite. It was very warm when we were there. There is no power, so the only solution is to open all windows and doors so that you can get a little cooling at night. Toilets are of the "hole in the ground" type and there is no water (so make sure you bring enough, you can fill your bottles at the National Parks office on the edge of the park). The advantage of the campsite is that you are already located fairly centrally in the park, so you can go and see fun things in the morning before it gets sweltering again.
This is probably my favorite location for camping in California. Loved it!! Just go see the rock formations & climb them! They have a rock shaped in a giant heart near by! It’s awesome! Amazing campgrounds! They have tables & fire pits. There are also restrooms & dumpsters. Stayed here on the 4th of July! I woke up on July 5th to video the sunrise. I suddenly heard coyotes calling directly from the campgrounds about 30-40 yards away. I can understand one or two maybe being in the campground, but a whole pack, don’t know. Usually they’ll stay away from people like that, unless they are really hungry. They don’t usually go into a campsite and start calling. Just pretty stranger things sort of vibe, ?.
