I know there's practically no options in the Hi Desert but I don't recommend this place. The staff is friendly but the food quality is NOT good. Everything tastes old. I've given it several tries because I wanted to have a good Japanese spot in town but it has never improved. It's quite expensive and there's a putrid smell in the restaurant. It's just not worth it.
Caught them on a Tuesday after 2 days closed, bad fish.
Always friendly here. I’ve never had a roll I disliked. Ramen is also pretty good. I usually come back for both when I want something in 29 out of the norm. Service can sometimes take a while due to staff shortage and the restroom has always had a funky smell. I wouldn’t recommend the table closest to restroom. Will come back !
The food was good. I've had better sushi, but there's not a lot of options in the desert. Would still consider going if I was in the mood for sushi.
Sad to have given them a chance. Aki sushi in yucca is way better and less expensive. The rice in the sushi was plain, not even seasoned, there was a bone in my salmon, and all of the fish was fishy in a gross way. Not at all fresh. Even the boiled shrimp tasted old.
Waited 45 min for 2 poke bowl to go such a waste of time! Served everyone but us before! Terrible made us miss sundown at joshua tree! Dont stop there if youre in a hurry
Great food, fast service!
Sushi is what it is considering you're in a desert. The calamari is a total waste of money.
Basic restaurant, plenty of parking.
Ordered almost a $100 worth of sushi. The quantity was good for that price but the quality was not. Sushi didn’t taste as fresh as other restaurants in the area. Staff was kind tho.
The food is not the correct temperature, they do not give you enough fish for the cost, the drive to yucca for Aki is worth it

Quite possibly the worst ramen & sushi we’ve ever had.
Pork was dry and in chunks like in pork fried rice, not pork belly for ramen.
Egg was hard boiled.
You can tell the ingredients were very cheap
Sushi had next to no fish in it, roll was mainly rice and avocado.
Order took over an hour… granted it was Valentine’s Day, but the quality just was not there.
Overall, not a great experience.
I love everyone here and the food is great.
Great food!
Japanese Chicken rich, robust flavor, chicken is perfectly cooked and seasoned
Fried Delicious flavor, perfect crunch
Sushi rolls: 3/5 Not the highest quality salmon, rice tends to be dry (could just be my experience one time)
Spicy beef and rice: 4/5 Hubby says he wished it had more beef (comes with a good amount though so it could just be him lol)
not a very strong flavor, kinda bland which is surprising for a kimchi but if you like a mellow flavor then it should be good for you.
Price & Serving size: 5/5 good prices for a filling and tasty portion of food.
Ramen: 3.5/5 broth could have a stronger flavor
Overall recommend except for the salmon sushi rolls. Thanks!

The food is great but the horrible rap music makes eating there crappy... weird choice of music for a sushi restaurant, so we did take out
