One of the best quality wines of the region maybe in the country Victor and Brenda are the owners of Simaine Cellars where organic grapes are turned to the balance of perfection in a glass. If you are driving through Ukiah,CA or planning a visit call to schedule a tasting and you be the judge but for me Simaine Cellars get 7 stars.

The passion is truly in the wine. I had never been to a wine tasting that made me feel at home. I tried 4 different wines while the owner Victor was there. It was truly fun, and I learned a lot about the wine. As well as learning how to solve puzzles, lol. It's a relaxed environment. Now, at first, it seems odd that it's in a warehouse, but go through the gift shop, and you'll find the bartender, which could be Karen or Victor. The first sip of wine gets you hooked. It's the highest alcohol level I've ever had. None of the 4 wines make me sleepy. I was there for 2 hours and was still able to go back to Orr hotsprings. The wine truly is phenomenal. The labeling of the bottle is nice. Also, the wine glass shape and thickness fits perfectly for the wine.

We found this small winery several years ago on a Treasure Hunt when we lived in the area. It’s tucked away in sort of an industrial looking storage area at the south end of Ukiah. We loved it then and decided to stop by while visiting the area. Brenda was on hand for some fun conversation while we tasted some of the wine they had available. It did not disappoint and we hope to come back and visit again. Check this place out if you have a chance. Its not all glitzy but great wine and good people

Went during barrel tasting 101, they have an outstanding Redwood Valley sourced Zinfandel, unique to me with its dryness

As all wine has it's particular crowd that gravitate towards it this wine is something everyone needs to try. If isn't the full flavored flavor packets that pop as it slowly rolls over your tongue it's the amazing hospitality the group gives you while sharing the experience.
