They offer milkshakes and smoothies, plus a menu of sandwiches / entrees and a set of proteins/grains/greens to build your own plate. The food is basic, well done, tasty, and filling. I had the grilled cheese sandwich, sweet potato fries, and a plate with different tofus and fried plantains. It was a lot of food, especially for the price. Staff are friendly and care for the environment. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-01
Had a great time trying a bunch of things in the hot buffet - the bbq tofu was my fav and the platano was not bad. I also had a grilled cheese sandwich, which was basic, but they got the cheese to melt so that is cool. The sweet potato fries were great and came with a good amount of ketchup. Loved the discount and enthusiasm for bringing my own containers! Updated from previous review on 2026-01-01
Thrilled to find this place along the way to Fort Bragg. As others mentioned, this place has a laid-back hippie vibe. We got the Reuben and the chicken sandwich plus the sweet potato fries. All very fresh and made to order— they cut the sweet potato into fries on the spot. Super friendly service. Food was tasty and filling — not outstanding. It sounds like the hot bar is better. Would return. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-30
We got food from the hot bar and it was all good. We’ll definitely be back!
I got a little bit of everything from the hot buffet and the food was awesome! Favorites were probably the chili tempeh and turmeric potatoes with mushroom gravy. The kale was good but a little too salty for me. The cauliflower wings were good if you big buffalo sauce (not my fav) and the fries were fresh which I liked but my boyfriend prefers crispier. The guy working there, Cody, was super friendly and made the experience fun.
Unbelievable vegan food. I will never forget these turmeric mashed potatoes and I will be trying to replicate this for as long as it takes. All food cooked absolutely perfect. Hidden gem 💎👏👏👏

First off, let me clarify that I WANT THIS RESTAURANT TO SUCCEED, which is why I’m posting this review, i.e., so that the staff can make changes they think are appropriate.
Having been a vegan for 5 or 6 years, and another year as a raw food vegan, I support vegan restaurants, but…the pinto beans here were so spicy — think of pain in one’s mouth — that we could not eat them. The stir-fried kale as so salty that we would not eat it. (The mashed potatoes and gravy was delicious.)

Great variety, fresh, excellent tasting, fair priced, large servings. A must stop for vegans. The buffet will give you a choice of about 10 vegan organic dishes. Sandwiches, tacos, and smoothies also available. We had a buffet of 6 items. The kale was too salty, other than that everything was very good to excellent.
Three of us dined in at the Willits location. Several tables were not clean even though they were not busy. Ordering was confusing. My friend wanted a grilled cheese sandwich, but they were out of cheese. She just had the fries which were extremely greasy. Our salads were ok. When I stood at the counter to pay, I was standing in something sticky on the floor. We really like supporting local business, but this is a definite NO!

More places with these healthy and delicious meal options should be a normal staple in communities.

Restaurantji Recommends
10/10 would recommend the owner is one of the coolest guys around great service very attentive easy to talk to they have karaoke the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month the food is good for you and tastes even better go check out taste buds if you never have. (Ps I don’t leave any reviews or recommendations on any restaurant ever and I felt that this one definitely deserves its flowers 🌹)
TasteBudz was good when it was in Ukiah, but now that the restaurant has moved to Willits, the food is even better. It's great! And now they have a drive-thru window, open the same days (Monday - Saturday) from 8 to 5. If you're driving on 101, get off and go through town for a yummy vegan meal. For $20 including tax, they'll give you a little of everything from the hot bar. Today I had the taco salad, which I enjoyed. I recently dined there with friends; one had a burger (house made) and another had the nachos. Both were very happy.
So glad this place came to Willits! They do not disappoint! Excellent service and food. Drive thru is a great bonus!
Taste Buds never disappoints! Amazing customer service and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the strawberry matcha, peanut butter soy “chicken” and the garlic kale! Sooooo GOOD!
The hot bar was the best! Sandwich was decent
