It was really a wonderful experience! It's my first time here and I'm quiet satisfied by the tasty food they served. Everything seems to be accurate on my taste. The entire interior is nice. I think the building is built to perfection. The staffs were very kind and diligent. They manage to keep the area clean and organize. It's just so easy to park too. They had this generous area for parking too.

My go to spot every few months. The salsa is spicy! I have to blend this with the mild salsa. The chimichanga was a good proportion & delicious.

The food looked great, presentation was cool beans. I ordered a 3-item plate with chile relleno, tamale, and steak enchilada. While everything looked appetizing, the chile relleno tasted like it was fried in old oil and seemed like it had been sitting out. My plate didnt deserve to eat first, even though phones eat first. Overall, the food was just okay. But the biggest shock? $136 for 3 people before tip. For that price, I expected better quality and flavor. Definitely overpriced for the value offered.

Good prices, food is also good with dishes that are not that common in other Mexican restaurants

I used to love ordering from Mexico Tipico when I lived in Union City. Friday night I was visiting family in Union City and I was excited that we decided to order from Mexico Tipico. My nephew picked up the order and when he got home I noticed that they did not give me 2 bottled sodas. No big deal I called and asked if I could get a refund. This is where things took a horrible turn. The phone gets passed around to about a million people finally a woman gets on the phone and says NO I cannot have a refund. Taken back by her response I asked why not and the phone hangs up. Now I'm mad. I call back and ask to speak to someone in charge. I guy named Efren gets on the phone. I inform him of my desire to get a refund for two expensive $5 bottles of soda that were not added in my order Efren says OK no problem puts the phone down only to come back and tell me no He cannot give me a refund because no one who knows how to do it is working he would only be able to refund my whole order . . . by this point that was not a bad idea. So he starts offering suggestions and tells me if I come back tomorrow the manager will be working and maybe then he can give me a refund or give me 2 bottles of soda. By then I realized they got me for $10. I normally would have gone back and got my refund if I still lived out there. But because I now live in Santa Clara County it would cost me more than $10 had a drove all the way to Union City and back. Won't be going back to Mexico Tipico until all the staff that engage in taking money learn how to give a refund and since I know that will never happen I won't be back. Sadly, I'm not even upset cause their food did not taste as good as it did when I lived out there. I'm not missing anything.

Tonight when I went there at 4 PM on a Friday evening they told me they had $1 house margaritas and Michelob during happy hour. My friends and I proceeded to order seven margaritas and I was presented for a bill for $88 for the margaritas. When I complained and asked about the happy prices, they said, “ Oh no that’s just $2 off per margarita.” Because there’s no happy hour menu, you would think the servers would know the happy hour prices and items offered.

Be aware that appetizers and margaritas are only $2 off the published price during happy hour. This was a very expensive night out for me.

Parking: About 50 spots as it is next to a Washington Hospital clinic.

Wheelchair accessibility: Parking lot to restaurant entrance has no stairs. Plenty of handicapped parking.

Mexico Tipico in holds a special place in our hearts. We had our first date here, and returning one year later during Valentine’s Day weekend was a perfect way to celebrate. The food is authentic, fulfilling, and provides a level of comfort you just can’t debate.

The birria tacos were absolutely delicious—packed with flavor and paired with an excellent sauce that elevated every bite. We also shared the chicken tortilla soup, which was so good we had to take the remainder home to enjoy later.

To top it off, I ordered a Jamaica margarita. Normally, I’m not a margarita fan, but this one was the perfect balance of fruity and edgy—refreshing and not too sweet.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for any occasion. We’ll definitely be back to relive the memories and enjoy more of their amazing food!

Wheelchair accessibility: Tables & seats are a little tight but there is a back section that is more open with booths available
