Stopped for a late, impromptu lunch. I got the Fajidas Mariacos and my partner got the Combanacion Pirata. Portions were right for the price, food was salty for me, but also well seasoned. Fresh corn tortillas made onsite are hard to beat. The real star of the show the service, welcoming fresh out the gate and attentive the whole time.

Very good Mexican restaurant serving their staples and they specialize on seafood dishes there. I was craving for chicken flautas and ordered the plate with spanish rice, refried beans and pico de gallo. Flavors are delicious and it was better than expected. I guess I was hungry on a Friday afternoon. Menu is huge like 10 pages. Tortilla chips and house salsa were fresh, delicious on point. One of the flavorful Spanish rice I ate, frsh salsa and pico de gallo, deep fried chicken flautas and moist chicken were delicious. The one thing g I didn't like was the texture of refried beans and they used white beans instead of pinto beans. It was semi chunky. The food is 4.7. Ambiance and customer service were all 5. Server was very attentive, courteous and polite. I highly recommend this restaurant over the Muchos Gustos which is located nearby. I will.be coming back for more.

So I've been wanting to come here for a while, since I moved out of UC it fell off my radar. My daughter wanted pozole after school and I remembered that Playa Azul was there near by and wanted to check them out. This was the perfect opportunity. We got there and the interior was nicely decorated with beautiful accent color banners typical of fiestas in Mexico and the host was welcoming and adorable. She placed her order and we waited. While we waited the host asked us if we liked Mexican candies and brought us a few and one we'd never seen let alone tried which turned out amazing and nostalgic. He then offered us drinks and we chatted on the history of the restaurant as it's is family owned since the 80s. Once the food was ready we headed out only to be met with hand made tortilla 🤤 and an amazing pozole. My daughter is the epitome of picky and she even drank the broth. Speaks volumes of the quality and flavors. This will be a definite go to from now on.

We came here not knowing what to expect. It was our first time but our daughter was having a bday and wanted Mexican food. This restaurant had the best tasting homemade food we couldn’t find anywhere else. The staff was so warm and accommodating to our family and especially our kids. The chef himself and his wife even introduced themselves and were so welcoming. We definitely recommend this place for delicious home made tasting authentic Mexican dishes. And we will always always be coming back here. Thank you again Jose and to the staff. ❤️

My wife ordered online for pick-up and let me tell you once I walked in I was greeted with a very warm welcome! The food is honestly a 10/10 and taste home made, like grandma made it. This has got to be the best Mexican restaurant in Union City hands down! Definitely will be returning and highly recommend!
