The French Street Bistro is a quick service location located on the upper lot in Universal Studios Hollywood Studio. It's near the Secret Life of Pets ride and Minion Mayhem, Despicable Me. I was looking through the Universal Studios Hollywood application for some sweet treats. I noticed that the French Street Bistro had some Macarons! After riding the Secret Life of Pets ride, my husband and I stopped by the French Bistro. The French Bistro didn't have any customers inside on a cold, Thursday afternoon. Looking through their menu, it looked like they had a lot of pre-made selections from artisan sandwiches and gourmet salads. Some of their other alternatives include Muffins and Cookies. This restaurant does have a variety of dietary options though, which is great! Gluten Free Options Vegetarian Options Peanut-free Options Dairy-Free Options Their Macaron flavors were limited. When we asked the team member they had Pistachio, Salted Caramel, Chocolate available. We ended up choosing 2, one of the Salted Caramel and the Chocolate flavor. It was less than $5.00 for both Macarons. The team member provided them in a small bag. My husband and I decided to split them inside the restaurant. Both Macarons were cold. The Salted Caramel was my favorite. It was packed with flavor and you could taste the caramel, but it wasn't over powering. I didn't particular enjoy the chocolate Macaron. It was a dark chocolate and the flavor profile was extremely strong! Both filings weren't smooth, but more of a Jello like consistency. Overall though, considering other dessert prices in the park, the Macarons are a great inexpensive option if you're looking for a small sweet treat!

Well, I didn't heed the reviews and still went to stop here for a quick coffee break! Sure enough, the service was ungodly piss poor! I mean, c'mon!! I think the staff here just hates life! Ughh! I'm good with the long lines, it's an amusement park, it comes with territory. I'm ok with the higher-than-normal price and the mediocre food too, again it's an amusement park. We thought the lady at the register was nice enough and the older lady who handed out drinks was pleasant. However, the adolescent child who actually made their drinks was just utterly horrible! Couldn't make the drinks proficiently enough in the order they were placed so folks who ordered much later got their drinks first because it was "easier to make", like maybe pour into a cup. Some of us who ordered something a bit more complicated like ohh I don't know..."need to blend some ice", had to wait another 10 minutes. I checked on the status of my order and she just rudely said without looking at me even, "well we're busy ok!" I'm so happy that she has this job but one that she obviously doesn't care for, but my goodness, take the angst about all of it somewhere else. Some of us actually love to enjoy our lives! It's not that serious!

My cappuccino was extremely plain, and the mushroom quiche was just okay. Everything is pricey in the park.

The guy at the counter was ignoring me while I was ordering. I had to repeat myself 3 times that I just wanted a cappuccino.

Horrible food and service. Kevin at the counter was so not interested in customer service. Plain bland poor service - that explains no customer in the shop.

I'm not giving 5 star bc of the food. Its good enough, yes its overpriced. - Yes, they run out of things often. However, if you need a coffee and don't want to brave Starbucks, this is a great stop. Everytime we've been in here the line is short and there is available indoor seating. Its kind of our secret take-a-break spot. The staff has always been kind.

It's an air conditioned place to sit with mediocre grab and go sandwiches or a hot sandwich/quiche option.

Sadly, the chocolate spiral croissant was stale. The black tea, which was made-to-order, and customer service made up for it.
