So this is one of the better places in the park to eat at. The sandwiches were good. We had the pulled pork and grilled cheese. Also the rotisserie chicken was moist and had some flavor. We also Had the minion banana pudding which was cute and tasty. Most of the restaurants at universal studios aren't that good. This is one of the few decent ones they have. Give this place a try if you plan to eat in the park.

Gru's Lab Cafe has been renovated and changed to Minion Cafe with it's opening during Taste of Universal. We stopped by on opening weekend and greeted by tremendous staff members, from those controlling the lines, welcoming patrons at the door, assisting in food orders and the cashiers. We tried two items today, the grilled cheese and banana hazelnut pudding. The grilled cheese was so sad. It was cold and although toasted nicely, it sat for so long on the pass the "crispiness" turned to dryness. Given the size and normal pricing of $10, there is almost no cheese in this "grilled cheese". As for the pudding, it was actually pretty good! Great banana pudding, nice flavor with fresh aromatics, while the hazelnut is very light in flavor but has a good nuttiness to contrast the banana. I do wish there was less whipped cream and the minion sugar design was inedible.

After a long day of walking in the park, it was time for a bite to eat. Decided to walk into this cute themed restaurant and ordered the meatball sub with a side of caesar salad. The salad was soggy and definitely not fresh but the meatball sub was surprisingly good. Now I don't know if it was because I was super hungry and anything would have tasted good but I would go back to try it again.

A great restaurant for an adventure park. Downside was that they were out on majority of the dishes only at 12:15 pm... The minion cupcake was cute and tasted good but the blue cream leaves a mark on your month. The pulled pork with grilled cheese toast and the meatball subway were both very delicious and flavorful. Taste: 9/10 Presentation: 6/10 Service: 7/10 Ambience: 6/10 Value for money: 10/10 $15 per person

We were hungry and looking for something quick for lunch. The menu at Gru's was quite diverse and there was something that interested everyone in our group. I tried the Stir-fry Asian Chicken with rice and vegetables. It was very tasty and quite filling. We also tried the chicken tenders, rotisserie chicken and a Minion cupcake, and they were good as well. The prices were typical for theme park food.

Ducked in here after riding on the "used to be 3D but that never really worked that great anyway so now it's just a sit down and hold on simulator after a long wait in line" Minion ride. The kidlets were hungry, and so was I. I had my eye on the nachos, but my nutrition coach... I mean, wife... talked me out of it. So I pouted and decided not to order anything. I'm a big hangry dieting baby sometimes. The littluns got chicken fingers and Mrs got that Nefario lab salad with watermelon and noodles and stuff. No complaints from anyone, and you know, theme park prices. I snuck a couple of fries when no one was looking and they were pretty good. Seating outside was comfortable, until we had to move to a table near the water play area to watch my kids hooched up on sugar. Love theme parks.

I'm not sure how the food would taste. I waited in line and placed an order for #3 (nachos). After about 10 minutes in line after I placed my order, the guy ahead of me decided he wanted nachos too after seeing my taco bowl and the food server allowed that to happen. That was the last taco bowl and I could no longer have nachos. They said they could not serve nacho plates without the taco bowl. Pretty unfair service.

Very good food. A bit pricey but over all was a good experience.

The BEST food in Universal Studios! I always order Gru's shrimp salad. It's an awesome healthier option and sooo yummy! My kids order the Mac-n-cheese sandwich and meatball sub, with either chocolate dipped strawberries (YES!) or caramel apple dippers. Their nacho salad looks incredible too...a giant tostada filled with all the fixings and more chips. This place has some incredibly cute desserts too! We discovered that if you sit across from the restaurant at the table table in front of the double-doors building, you might just get to meet every single character as they come out for photos and they usually give some special attention/ pictures. Best kept secret...shhh. Love this place!

I tried the Dr. Nefario's lab salad and I like it. It's more like an Asian fusion style of salad and the tastes and combinations of vegetables and chicken and shrimps are good. I'm super picky about salad usually but I like this.

Alright, alright. This is Universal Studios Theme Park, you can't expect food to be amazing here. You already know it's going to be overpriced for what it's worth and they're not going to use the highest quality of ingredients. They have to go for efficiency somehow when trying to feed enormous crowds. However, for being theme park food, this place wasn't all that bad. On a Sunday afternoon, there was relatively no line. They have the menu set up for you at the top, and you grab a tray and pretty much go "old school cafeteria lunch" style. After telling them what you want, you keep sliding on over until you pay. Vector's Grilled Cheese with BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich - I was surprised how much I liked this despite it being pretty simple. The bread was toasted and buttery, and there was enough cheesy goodness mixed in with a good amount of pulled pork. I personally thought it needed a bit more BBQ sauce, but thankfully they give you some on the side so you can dip your sandwich. It's a little heavy and greasy, but I think that's what I needed to fuel all the walking and sight-seeing in the sun. It comes with fries on the side which were pretty standard; but I love fries. El Macho's Nachos - These are nachos in a larger green taco shell. It's almost like taco salad, but nachos in taco salad form. There were plenty of toppings from sour cream to pico de gaillo to guacamole to nacho cheese and chicken. The chicken pieces were on the dry side, but I didn't expect much. The nachos were mediocre. Edible and they tasted fine. The green exterior shell was getting a little soggy unfortunately. The nacho chips in the center were enough to make me full though. Yes it's a bit overpriced but we all know that of amusement parks so there isn't too much complaining that can be done. There is ample seating outside. Overall, would come back here if I visited Universal Studios again.
