The donuts are always tremendous here, highly recommend the Butterfingered, 8 Mile, and even the Glazed and Apple Fritter! And you have to go just to experience the decor, so much pink and so much voodoo

Came here after a fun filled day at Universal Studios! Just to stand in another line...LOL. It was almost closing time but they had a line almost out the door. This is such a fun shop. The donuts are always delish! The chocolate with the cream filling was my fave! The cream was so delicious and the donut tasted fresh and had a nice bouncy texture. The chocolate was yum! I also ordered their hot chocolate which was tasty and made with care. I loved that they had seasonal Easter donuts for Easter. One of their donuts was with a cute chocolate bunny butt! Their selection is quite large. If you plan on trying some of their larger donuts only order one they are huge, and very filling, 4 people can share one. This donut shop is always great, I wish they had more locations. Can't wait to go to their original store location in Oregon.

If I ever want a snack for later or breakfast for the next day, and am leaving Universal, I pop into Voodoo Doughnut. You shouldn't be venturing to Universal just for Voodoo, that would be foolish! The parking alone! But when at Universal Studios, the AMC here or something else - why not get a sugar filled carb!? I enjoy their chocolate old fashioned and cake donuts way more than their yeast. But if they have some adorably cute and themed yeast donut? Well I'm a sucker for a peanut butter filled bunny for Easter, so I'm buying it lol. Cuteness will always win for me. Their chocolate frosting though is legit! The shop is so fun, something to look at in every direction. They have a ton of merch for sale but also I love their rotating display of donuts. Makes for a fun way to check out their options. Staff is always friendly! There is always a line, hopefully not out the door, but it always moves quickly and staff is ready to help. I've been going to Voodoo since Portland years ago, and I'll keep on, keepin' on!

Of any place to grab a donut, many have argued there is no place on the West Coast that's more iconic than Voodoo Doughnut. And given this is one of the only outposts of Voodoo Doughnut in the Greater LA Area, I've always wanted to give this spot from Portland, Oregon a try. Not knowing exactly what to expect, I happened to get to CityWalk around 5:30PM. Parking was a zoo with the large parking maze your car has to go through. But fortunately, parking only costs $10 if you come to Universal after 5PM (Otherwise costs $32). And after a 10 minute walk through the parking structure, I was able to reach the Voodoo Doughnut store. For someone walking into the store for the first time, there were WAY TOO MANY choices to consider. But from the items I was able to find, I decided on an Apple Fritter ($4.50) and the classic Voodoo Doll ($4.95) they're known for. At first, these prices might seem very high for donuts, especially considering the many donut shops around the Greater LA Area. But after getting my hands on a few of these pastries, I could definitely see why. Starting with the Apple Fritter, the first thing i noticed was the pastry was DENSE. Filled with apple pieces and glaze, it was noticeably generous. If I were to return, I would definitely get one of these again for the quantity alone. As for the Voodoo Doll, the donut was not as large as the Apple Fritter. But compared to the size of a regular donut, it was somewhat larger. The Voodoo Doll donut was filled with raspberry filling which I did not anticipate going in. But now with the benefit of hindsight, I would have wished for more filling! I understood the filling was supposed to represent blood and organs, but I wanted my doll to gush out with innards! On the positive side, there was something very gooey closer to where the heart would have been (it looked like a heart). As for theming, great attention to detail! Out of the two, I couldn't say I enjoyed one more than the other. The apple fritter was warm, soft, and tasted like cinnamon apple fries. The glaze on top acted like a pseudo "whipped cream" which helped give richness without being overly sweet. I would have loved to have more apple pieces inside, though. As for the Voodoo donut, the donut was soft and easily bitable. I loved the texture inside as it wasn't too dry nor too moist. The raspberry filling and pretzel stick gave a unique taste to different localized sections of the donut. But I would have loved more of either one to help balance out the doughiness of the bread. In addition, the chocolate barely showed up which was sort of a bummer. For my next visit, I would definitely get the Apple Fritter again. But as for the Voodoo doll, I see it as a kind of food you get once to say you had it but not again after that. Voodoo Donuts is definitely one of the most kooky donut shops I've been to in California. But if going into the park, definitely save room for the Lard Lad Donuts in Springfield (Simpsons Area). The taste is great for the price, but perhaps only as a once in awhile treat. Otherwise, quantity was good and definitely a place I'd like to come back to. If I had to give a tip, take a look at the options for awhile before going in. Trying to pick from their unique selection of donuts on the spot is hard!

I went to the Tempe, Az location and was blown away. Those were so fresh and fluffy! The best dough nuts I ever had! This location is not the same doughnut quality . Yuck to the glazed, chocolate and maple bar I bought today. Completely stale. What a disappointment. Definitely not a great representation of Voodoo.

I don’t know how much it cost or what the service was like all I can say is I was at an event last night that had Voodoo donuts brought in, I had one, and it was the best donut I’ve ever eaten. It was a raised, glazed cruller with icing. Delicious, soft, almost chewy (but not quite) just the perfect amount of doughiness. The icing was the ideal level of sweetness. An amazing donut. I had never heard of this place but I had to leave a review it was so exceptional.

I have waited so long to try these hyped up donuts. Total disappointment. After trying 4 of the 12 we just threw them all away. Awful texture, dry hard and not what a yeast donut should be. The way they packed the donuts was awful too. They stacked them. Ruined the frosting. Absolutely not worth the hype. Donut friend is way better if your in LA

There was a line but it went quick and the donuts were very yummy. They're pretty good size I'd say you can share them. Very rich in flavor so couldn't finish it. Our voodoo doughnut definitely didn't look as advertised but the kids still enjoyed it. The stores cute and decorated nice! Really liked that.

I've always been eager to try this place, attracted by its extensive selection of beautifully designed donut flavors. Finally, during a visit to Universal Studios, I had the chance to try some. Although I had high hopes, I found them to be just okay. In my opinion, they were quite dense, and I could only take a few bites at a time. On the plus side, the service was speedy, and the store had fantastic decor.

Pink sprinkle always my to go, I love it! Definitely a tourist spot, so expect the line to be long. If you go on a weekday near closing time it's kess busy, but they might soldout of some popular flavors.

This place is horrible. The prices up for the donut is crazy. You would think for as much as you pay for a doughnut there's a donut would be top-notch. No not there. Voodoo is whack you're better off going to Winchell or to mom and Pop donut shop save your money go to Winche.
