really disappointed with our visit. the ramen tasted like it came from a cup ramen, i might as well could have bought it from walmart. my pregnant wife asked if she can have thai tea without ice and they said they couldn’t do that? how hard is it to separate the ice from the thai tea? really odd experience overall. will not be coming back.

I’m a local who was planning to try this restaurant, but I’m pressing pause after reading several recent reviews describing a server being publicly scolded and even grabbed by the wrist, along with claims that servers don’t receive the tips customers leave. I wasn’t present for those incidents, so this isn’t a food review—it’s a consumer decision based on multiple public reports in the last few days and what they suggest about how this place is run.

Whether every detail of those accounts is accurate or not, the picture they paint is troubling:
• Public humiliation and physical contact: A dining room is a workplace. Managers should never berate staff in front of guests, and there is zero justification for putting hands on an employee. That’s unsafe, unprofessional, and the opposite of hospitality.
• Tip handling and transparency: In California, gratuities are meant for the employees who serve customers. Owners and managers are not supposed to keep or skim tips, and any tip pool must be clearly explained and limited to eligible staff. When customers tip, they reasonably expect it to go to the people taking care of them. If the house has a different system, guests deserve plain-English disclosure.
• Culture shows up in the dining room: When leadership normalizes shaming staff or keeping them in the dark about their pay, it hurts morale—and guests feel it. Great restaurants protect their teams, train privately, and praise publicly.

What I hope to see from management (and what would change my rating):
1. A public response acknowledging the recent reviews—not a generic template—and an explanation of what happened.
2. A clear, posted tip policy: who participates, how tips are distributed, and explicit confirmation that owners/managers do not take any portion.
3. A no-touch, no-public-shaming policy, with training for supervisors and a third-party hotline so staff can report issues safely.
4. A good-faith gesture to the team (e.g., back pay if any tip handling was wrong, plus training and accountability going forward).

For fellow diners: If you decide to visit, it’s reasonable to ask how tips are handled and to look for respectful interactions between management and staff. If you’re a worker who’s affected, you can speak with the California Labor Commissioner’s Office about tip/gratuity concerns and with local authorities or the state civil rights agency if there’s harassment or unwanted physical contact.

I love supporting local restaurants—especially the people who make them run. I’ll happily update this review if management addresses these concerns with transparency and concrete changes. Until then, I’m choosing to spend my money where staff are treated with dignity.

Owner likes to grab and humiliate his servers publicly in front of everyone to see which is so uncalled for. The servers don’t get the tips the customers are leaving either. DONT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!!!!

The girl at the front was dismissive; she didn’t acknowledge my wife and me when we entered and acted as if she was too busy to provide us with proper service. Another girl had to come and bring us our order that we had placed. The woman who came in after us left because the girl in the front didn't acknowledge her either.

I was really disappointed by how the cook treated the waitress during my visit today. He was rude and unprofessional, yelling at her in front of customers. It made the whole experience uncomfortable. I won’t be coming back.

I had the worst experience today. I normally love this spot but today the sushi chef was extremely unprofessional and rude to the point I had to step in and say something and leave my food there. The sushi chef was yelling at our server today because my coworker and I requested to cancel a roll. He went on for about 5 min yelling at her from across the room and was pointing at our table while having a tantrum. I suggested our sweet server to leave and find a job else where, where they will appreciate her that was so unacceptable. & he still had the nerve to come to our table and tell us that she yelled at him first. Servers be careful if you’re applying here. They treat they’re employees horribly without a care if anyone is watching

Showed up at 9:50pm and the smell of this place was awful. Take out only past a certain time. Online doesn't say take out only after 9pm. I won't be coming back here again...

Went there for first time. Had been recommended by family. Quite disappointed. Rolls were bland/mediocre. The server told us we were getting a couple of the most popular rolls but definitely don’t see what made them popular. A bit over priced considering literally all sushi spots offer some sort of special (happy hour/all you can eat…etc).

The service was good. The girl that was helping me out was nice. I had ordered food for a takeout the food in my opinion was really good. I enjoyed all of it. But what I didn't like was the portion of the sauce inside the food tray as you see in the picture that's the one that I got inside the tray. Barely anything inside I had to buy extra sauce that was actually filled more than the one that was in the tray, and that is the disappointing part. Because the trays are not what you would say cheap $15 for a meal give or take with no drink only to get skimmed on the sauce. The other part I didn't like was that the girl gave me 2 receipts and it also had the option to tip in my opinion, I don't see a reason to tip when I am ordering takeout. I would understand if I was eating there, but I wasn't, that is just my opinion.
