I purchased a gift card for $40 and when I activated it learned it had ZERO balance. I attempted to get the problem solved with Starbucks customer service and they gave me the run around. Please DO NOT BUY ANY GIFT CARDS FROM STARBUCKS. I really hope that my bad experience will help others from making the same mistake that I did. I will NEVER buy a gift card from them again!!
Gift Card Draining is a real problem and Starbucks does NOTHING to stop it. So do not let Starbucks RIP YOU OFF. Do not buy gift cards from Starbucks!!

When another person later purchases the card and puts money on it, the scammer then takes the money, or “drains” the card of its funds
