My husband and I brought our 17 yr old daughter her for a birthday lunch. It was our first time visiting this place and we were not disappointed. The service was wonderful and the food was great. We'll definitely eat here again.

Came Friday evening for a friends birthday gathering. They have a great private area in the back with a large tv. Food & service was great, it’s never easy getting good service for a large party, but they were very attentive and accommodating. The food came out quick, and the portions were great for a party. I will be back!

I'm glad I gave this place another chance. Everything was fresh and delicious. Sashimi salad, nigiri, special hamachi and SF roll we're all very good and highly recommended.

Overall average ambiance with friendly and extremely helpful staff. The food, however, tastes old and bland so I would be hesitant to try this place again. I should preface this by saying that we came in at about 7:30 pm on a Tuesday to celebrate a cousin turning four years old. So although I won't have very many good things to say, this might just be a rare case. After arriving, our party was greeted warmly, with a designated part of the restaurant sectioned out already. The vibe was as expected - a typical Japanese fare with nothing less and nothing more. It was a relatively slow night, but it definitely wasn't empty. I was a little concerned after spotting a typo on the header of the menu (Nigri instead of Nigiri), so I was anticipating some inauthenticity with the dishes. The service was great. The manager on duty as well as our server were so helpful, responsive, and pleasant to have. They helped us pick out two bottles of sake to enjoy with our dinner, and they helped get us situated for a family photo. Absolutely loved them, so no complaints whatsoever there.However, the food itself was fairly disappointing. I got the dinner Bento box (pictured) with Tonkatsu (pork) and a spicy tuna roll. The pork was very bland and dry, with the only flavor really coming from the sauce. The sushi and edamame both echo this same sentiment. The only thing that I would say was good was the miso soup. Everything else just tasted old or stale. However, to reiterate, this was on a night in the middle of the week so this may not be the case all the time.
I love the sushi rolls here. The staff is very attentive and fast as well.

I was craving sushi on the drive home from work. I forgot that Kazan is right up the street from me! I stopped by to order dinner to go.The staff greeted me immediately when I arrived. I provided 2 menus when I told the employee I wanted to order my food to go. The Server who helped me and ring in my order, was very very nice. She was hustling! A lot helping customers t kept coming in groups after I arrived, and she bounced back and forth between seating people, and taking food that was done to the tables. Everything looked delicious! She said it was okay for me to sit at the bar and take a look at the menus. My goodness were these menus HUGE! One menu was a regular menu with all the food ingredients and prices. The other menu was what I called the "picture book" version of the menu. It showed what all the rolls, appetizers, etc, looks like. My millennial self decided on The Lion King roll. LOL. With the salt and pepper prawns as a side. I paid for my meal and waited about 25 or so minutes. Which was about the time amount of time I was quoted that my food would be done. I sat on my phone and took a look at plants while I waited :)My food looked delicious when it came out ..I couldn't wait to take it home! After I was given my chopsticks, ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce, I was ready to go with my food into the sunset. I brought my food home and smashed it almost immediately! I got to give it to them .. I didn't know sushi in Vacaville was smacking (delicious) like this! Alright cow town...I see you!! I definitely look forward to eating in at Kazan the next time I have a sushi craving... just to try out the dine in experience.

Food was fresh and delicious in general and they are very accommodating and service is fantastic. I had poke, short rib's appetizer, hamachi kama, and edamame. All delicious and Kirin beer was properly cold. What I'd say would make my review 5 stars is if the poke was a bit more lively. The tuna pieces were cut a bit thick, and so were the cucumber- seaweed has some umami but little else added here. This basic poke form is good - yet, why not hit it with some exciting umami like so many Poke spots do? I get this is the customary way and not the Hawaiian style, so I'd say, ok, I'll eat this any day. Now I have two delicious Japanese food spots in Vacaville. And a couple others that are good enough. This one I hope sticks with me as long as I am in VV. We will see!
