This is a hidden gem in SCV and our new go to local spot for Cuban food! Mike was our server and he was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and overall one of the best servers we have had in a very long time in SCV. The food was delicious. We had the arroz con pollo, empanadas, media noche and flan. Everything came out in a timely matter and was hot and fresh. It was all so yummy. Being Cuban myself, I can say this was an authentic food experience. This should be everyone’s new local casual dining spot for a date night or family. Their prices are also very reasonable and they have an extensive menu with lots of options. I only wish we tried this place out sooner! Highly recommend, just go you won’t regret it.

This restaurant made me fall in love with Cuban food and I have been trying as many Cuban places as I can but none compare to El Cubano. Pictured: Mojo Chicken (my personal favorite) and Ropa Vieja. The Cuban sampler is also really good!
I am so glad my son recommended this place. Ordered a couple of sandwiches to go and they were just excellent! While I waited Mike made me feel right at home. I can’t wait to take the whole family and go further into the menu. What a gem!

“I was hyped when I saw the 4.7 stars, but when I ordered the breaded pork chop and Ropa Vieja, it was just average. There was too much breading on the pork chop, and the Ropa Vieja was pretty fatty. However, the beans were really good and the plantain.

Got half a bbq chicken meal and chicken empanadas… the empanadas didn’t have much filling and was a little disappointed… but the meal was very delicious and would definitely get that again!!
