88 Bao Bao Dumpling House

My dad was craving shrimp fried rice so I was searching in a place in Vallejo for take out and thought I’d try 88 baobao’s. I called in and it was easy to place an order. I ordered shrimp fried rice, sauteed green beans, popcorn chicken, and a side of cucumbers. My order was ready in 10-15 mins for pick up. Service was quick. This was my first time ordering from this location, I didn’t even order any baos sio mai or dumplings but I tried them at other locations. They have indoor seating and the food has huge portions to serve lots of people and last for multiple meals. Located in the Gateway Plaza across from Vallejo Costco, so there’s plenty of parking. Located next to Ulta and quickly.

I’ve come here twice in a year, both times have been delicious. I feel like I can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Very friendly, and everything tastes so fresh.

Solid dim sum. If you need a dumpling fix, you will be happy with your meal here. We especially enjoyed the green beans and wontons in chili sauce.

2 times running late this restaurant ended up the go to. 1st time was with #FiXProp19 volunteers trying to Save Truly Affordable Homes and small businesses. 2nd time was with family for Presidents Day Sale. If you want great food in a pinch... this is it!

They serve fast, but be aware that they do not let the food cool down before serving. The food will burn your mouth. You could get your food takeout, drive 10 mins home, and it would probably be perfect heat just like how it should be when served on the table.

I am a San Francisco guy, my go to is food that has a great flavor, and when I am finished eating I am satisfied.
However……….When I order from DoorDash at your establishment……
Your shaomai is a little tough to chew. Leek/pork/shrimp dumplings, filling great, wrapper hard to chew. Garlic string beans , it takes a while to get to me. For DoorDash orders flash fry and pop them out early and let me zap them in the microwave.

Found this place in August and now is a must visit when in town. Haven't had a bad dish yet but really love the beef roll and sesame balls.

$14 low end bland and dry fried rice just look at the photo.. used less than half an egg. This review is for the fried rice only.

flavors are there. XLB was very dough-y at the top where they seal it.
i also got the pork&shrimp siomai.
both dumplings have good flavor but the texture of the meat was off. it didn't have the bouncy and springy texture that most places have.

needs work.
