Had Chef D By The Bay while their truck was vending at the Juneteenth Parade in Richmond. I ordered Shrimp, Fish, and Fries. Everything was hot, fresh, and seasoned just right! The fish and shrimp were crispy and the portions were a nice size. I can't wait to go to the restaurant and try out some more of the food and sides.

Soulful, tasteful, and simply filling! Chef D and his Wife truly provide an amazing experience. You can taste and see the spices/herbs. The catfish cornmeal breading was cooked/seasoned as if your southern grandmother deep fried it! The same compliment is authored for the chicken wings. The taste took me back to deep fried chicken served after church service! Lastly, those sides!! Packed with flavor, spoonful after spoonful! I shall return! Thank you!

Mac n cheese was good,,,Fish was good!! Shrimp Po boy was good,,,But they need to do something about their french fries!!!!But other than that it's good and I will try again ?

Today was my first time ordering. Fried Basa Dinner with 2 pieces of fillet, greens, candied sweet potatoes and Cornbread was delicious. The proportion of sides I wished were a little more, but overall it filled my tum-tum. Thank you Chef D. ADD: To the Green book

Today I had the half crab and garlic noodles and the jambalaya. Was excited to try the crab since I have never had it from here. The jambalaya I had a few times before it was good before. Today it was extremely watery and had no flavor. Huge disappointment. The crab was missing a leg, that kind of disappointed me. Why would you prepare a dish especially when someone's paying money for it and not give them the full value. That really irritated me. The garlic noodles had a lot of flavor, in fact too much flavor. So much so that I would eat the noodles and take a scoop of jambalaya to balance everything out. The crab itself had no flavor inside the shell, the crab was actually kind of dry. Like they roasted it in the oven, in no sauce butter nothing and just poured the sauce on top. This will probably be my last time getting food from here.

Food was bomb! The shrimp pro' boy was fire just like down south. The shrimps were perfectly seasoned! No too much dough. The flavor of the perfect on the red snapper, Mac n cheese and the sweet potatoes. Serving size on the sides was pesky, other than that it was fire and the bread was soft on the pro' boy. It's a Lil pricey but what's not in the bay? Highly recommend!!!!

Great tasting fried chicken.. but $21 for 3 pcs of just wings and spoonfuls (yes, kids meal from most restaurants are bigger than their serving) of rice and beans + Mac and cheese (both sides weren't freshly prepared, can tell from the taste, temperature, and appearance) isn't justifiable. I'm not sure how this chef is able to sleep at night. Anyway, this is my second time ordering from here, first time wasn't as bad but I ordered a red snapper dinner then and I believe I got bigger serving, but I ended up not eating it because I wasn't feeling well that time and so I had my then bf enjoy it instead. Although I ordered some side of chicken and that's how I learned their chicken here tastes amazing. Please re evaluate the pricing : serving proportion. It's not difficult to do the right thing, blessings outpour when the community loves you more. Only if you treat them the way you'd want to be treated.

Not only was the service and hospitality above and beyond, but the food was phenomenal. Chef D and his nephew provided the best service. I got the catfish nuggets and my husband got the jambalaya. Soooooo amazing!!!! I wish they'd come to Oregon.

Despite every reference to Sunday hours being 11am-6pm, my DoorDash order was CANCELLED AFTER I was charged $36.00 for my order and I was notified at the time my food should have been arriving. Unfortunately, this is why we find it so hard to support Black Businesses. The level of unprofessionalism is really disappointing. I won't stop trying though. Too bad that THIS was my first experience.

Amazing. Probably one of the most authentic southern style soul food you can get in Northern California. All of the sides where done right! My favorite dish has to be their fried oysters but all their other plates are great as well.

Customer service on 100! Today was my first time stopping by and the man who picked up the phone was kind and helpful and the woman who served me treated me like family and to top it all off the food was amazing! Will definitely be coming back a lot!
