Was looking for a quick hot plate on a random Thursday night approaching the 10pm hour after most of the taco trucks around town had already closed. Enter Tesoro Mazatlan. I had seen the overall 5 star reviews and it's been on my radar to stop by awhile. Lots of plates to choose from with pictures posted, so you know what you're ordering. I went with the nachos with shredded beef. And washed it down with a Jamaica agua fresca, both to go. Shredded beef was peppery spicy and I loved it. Nachos were bomb as was the beverage. Take out plate + drink without any tip was a "dub" ($20), with a slight discount given for cash over card. Parking can be a little tricky and in a less-than-savory neighborhood. Especially if the dive bar (Chris's Club) next to it is hopping. However, I'm happy to report that the great ratings for this place seemed confirmed by my 1st visit. Surprised that I slept on this place so long. Bueno!

(Ordered it as a take out). I opted for the Super Steak Burrito. The portion is quite huge and I only ate half for dinner. I love all the sides it came with. They were also very generous with their hot sauce. I thought it was good but I wish the rice was not as dry. Overall it's a 4/5 stars.

Probably my favorite Mexican food in all of the Bay Area. This place is such a hidden gem. The plates are so flavorful and they do not skimp out on the shrimp. Aside from the meal, the service here is so friendly. We met the owner and he kept checking in on us. Even tho we only had water cups, he insisted we tried the horchata and gave us some free churros! My boyfriend recently went on a cruise to El Tesoro and he said our meal reminded him exactly of the food he had out there. Definitely worth trying out this restaurant!

I was born and raised in Vallejo for 30+ years and had never been to this location until today. I also rarely give ratings on Yelp unless I really think the location deserves the rating. I give this location 5 stars from their service to their amazing food. I would put this location as a Top 3 on my list.

My husband and I came right after Six Flags closed and couldn't find a Mexican restaurant open and we found this Mexican gem is a must-visit! From the warm ambiance to the mouthwatering dishes, every moment was pure delight. Don't miss out on their incredible flavors - it's a culinary experience you won't forget!

I was just passing through Vallejo and stopped here because it had good reviews. The reviews were spot on. I had their shrimp and fish tacos and a shredded beef burrito. Everything was so good. I will absolutely be finding an excuse to pass through and stop there again.

I have tried several times since they opened .... I have eaten there and take out .... service was good, very kind and helpful. food is ok .... not bad but not outstanding either. My issue is thr prices and portions .... they have steadily reduced protion sizes, but increased prices .... I get it inflation but come on now ... when I have ordered take out .... my brother picked up for me .... I was very dissappointed with everything .... in addition fees increase about 20% .... When I ordered I saw prices online .... howerver charged more when picked up. I called and they were dismissive and just said oh those are old prices .... not helpful at all .... they are very close to where I live however I will not order again ..... no bueno in my opinion .....

Amazing food and very friendly staff. Burrito was very reasonably priced for the quality (about 13$). Will be coming back

We went here based on the number of high reviews. It did not disappoint. The food was great! The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere is typical for this type of restaurant. The meals are large proportions and come with hand-made churros, which were incredible. I would go back again.Parking: Limited parking in front of restaurant shared with other storefronts.

I have to give this place 5 stars. We visited on an impromptu dinner date the night before I was going out of town for work. It was fairly low traffic in the establishment when we arrived- which was a surprise because Chris's next door was jumping with folks in/out. I was happy to sit in with just one other occupied table. We ordered: Crab enchiladas for him Camerones ala Diablo for me I subbed my rice for a salad. I like that there is a salsa bar so we dabbled and tasted the sauces while we wait on our food. The food is obviously cooked to order so there was about a 20 minute wait and then things started coming out. My salad was divine perfect simple and then his crab enchiladas were on point I would definitely go back and get those. my shrimp was bathing in a spicy sweet sauce- the sweetness is not my favorite however, it wasn't bad either, I ate a few shrimp and got with the salad. For some reason I don't think the beans agreed with me because I couldn't finish my food. I ended up feeling instantly bloated. I just know that their recipe for the refried beans are not for me while my husband loved them. While we were sitting there and finishing our food and just talking, they were cleaning the other side of the restaurant, playing music taking orders, and then the server brought us a small plate with some churros and cream on it which I thought that was a wonderful touch and complementary. They're close to my house, so I definitely will go back and honestly it wasn't our first time eating there. We had ordered out burritos from there a while ago, but I think dine in is a much better experience. The server was amazing.
