I really want to love this spot so would go again and try something different next time. First time visit and went for the Chicken n Waffles to check out all the hype. It was bland. No salt, no flavor. Just fried. One note. Meh. The atmosphere was groovy and the service was nice. The desserts were out of this world.
This place reminds me of a time in history where we as a collective was once together as a people. All kinds of people were there young,old,white black, Asian. Nestled in the heart of downtown vallejo esthetic is enjoyable to to the eye while you wait for your meal the bustling sounds of people talking and people serving was music to my ears. I enjoyed ever bit of it!! I even participated in the buying of some of their house made goodies. Vegan cookies, marinated red onions that...
Finally have a great little place for coffee, cocktails and breakfast. We had shrimp n grits, chiliquiles with chorizo (best I've had!) Homemade tortillas fried to perfection, not tortilla chips but actually the way it should be made. Bloody Mary was fresh and not a store bought mixer. We will be back!!!
