The Loft Shabu Sushi and Thai

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. There was plenty of parking. We were seated right away despite having a big party. I ordered the Pad See U with chicken and it was very good and tasty. Hamachi kama was also very tasty and not dry. Definitely a place to try. They also have sushi selections. My family ordered some and they were not disappointed.

The Loft is a large and bright restaurant with two extensive menus that includes traditional Japanese items and Thai food. The plates were presented well, but the flavors were basically mediocre. The restaurant was unusually empty for a Friday night. The beer selection was limited. Generally, the Thai food was better than the Japanese food. The Poke plates looked delicious, but the fish was bland.

Wanted to try this place for a mother's day dinner, there weren't many people at all but we still waiting a good 25 mins to order. Food also came out one by one in about 10-15 minute increments.. for only 3 people we were there for 2 hours. Food was eh, nothing special..

Food isn’t bad but the service is horrible and it takes way too long to receive your food after ordering and generally the restaurant atmosphere is very dry and the workers there seem unhappy. It’s also overpriced.

First and foremost, I am a local living in Hiddenbrooke and this is a very convenient location. It seems that this physical location is not very lucky for dining establishments. I only come here when I have no other options and rarely make a point of coming here. I don’t think Vallejo has much for great dining experiences except perhaps next door at Michael Waring. But for share convenience, I am lucky to have both Japanese and Thai food available. So I was willing to give this establishment another visit.

Service has always been very good. As it is rarely busy, the lone server does the ordering and server quite adequate. The variety is very good. The food quality is always very good. Prices are a bit higher than comparable locations but that’s expected for the convenience.

Our dinner for the evening:
Shrimp Tempura appetizer
Jasmine rice
Crab fried rice
Yellow chicken curry
California roll
Samurai roll
And one glass of Thai ice tea.

Food came out quickly and hot!

-Tempura was very flavorful and the batter flaky and light. 5 pieces. Some pieces had excessive batter. But definitely not over cooked. A good start.
-California roll easy and simple. Pieces are cut evenly (a dead giveaway for me).
-Fried rice was good and tasty. If there’s fish sauce, it’s not overbearing. I like the green onions on top.
-Curry was very good. I prefer more potatoes and Thai basil.
-Sushi roll was tasty. Rice is good consistency and not too dry or wet. Texture is excellent.

I really wish this place was busier and wish the owners success as it’s such hard work running a restaurant. I think they give their best effort and I will have to make a more concerted effort to come here more often. I’m biased as the success of this location means I have more choices for food locally. I recommend trying and seeing for yourself. If you live in Vallejo or Fairfield it’s worth the trip. But I’ll be coming back more frequently as it’s just down the road.

The Loft in Vallejo is a hidden gem, perfectly situated near the golf club. The ambiance is modern, clean, and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal.

Their speciality is Japanese and Thai food ?.
I ordered the Salmon Poke Bowl and a Miso Soup, and both were absolutely delightful. The poke bowl was fresh and vibrant, with generous portions of salmon, avocado, and seaweed salad, all served on a bed of perfectly cooked rice. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was spot on. The miso soup was comforting and had the right amount of seasoning, complementing the poke bowl nicely.

The overall experience was excellent, from the food to the atmosphere, but what really stood out was the special attention from Mr. Chalit, the owner, and Miss Kate, the General Manager. Their attentiveness made my experience even more enjoyable.

If you're looking for a quality sushi or Thai food spot in Vallejo, The Loft should be at the top of your list!

I love this place Everything on the menu has been delicious. Some of my favorites are the Pad Thai Chicken. Basil Fried Rice. the Spicy Miso Ramen. A5 Wagyu Nigiri. Tuna Tower. Teppan Steak. I cant say enough Good things about this place. The staff. The staff Are some of the nicest people we will ever meet.

It was 2024 Mother’s Day. I was waiting FOREVER for my food, my family and I got seated. In 1 hour we only got 1 small piece of food, IN ONLY 1 HOUR. Then I got my food another 30 mins, it was the udon. The udon was terrible, the soup was sweet and bland, the noodles weren’t soft and tasted sweet. It was supposed to be Tonkatsu Udon. The only good food was the crab rice and the mango iced tea.

Absolute worst Thai food experience. Food looks good online,but was disgusting once we received it. Not one family member finished their meal. $70 thrown in the trash.
