I received a free specialty pizza coupon from this restaurant so I had to go try it. This spot is small inside and nothing fancy for decor but the food I tried today was definitely 5 stars. I ordered the baked ziti with aurora sauce (alfredo and marinara) with meatballs added ($4) and it was excellent! The ricotta was creamy and smooth and the meatballs were so flavorful and soft. I also got chicken noodle soup which was simple but delicious. My boyfriend got the Italian sausage sub with pasta salad. The dressing on the pasta salad was so good and the sandwich was pretty big for $12. The break sticks that came were perfect on their own but you can't go wrong with a dip in that sauce, right? We ordered the Portino's special pizza to go and it was also good. While we ate we saw several people getting pizzas and other items to go. I will definitely come back to try the other pastas and possibly a meatball sub too! Thanks Portino's!

The best best best. I mean in the middle of nowhere, the food is unbelievable. The gnocchi, is fresh and like a pillow!!! Deep dish pizza very good. The pastas well made. Service was attentive. I can't wait to come back.

We came for a late lunch with just a few tables being used. The inside ambiance is cute, it looks to have been recently remodeled. it's a hole in the wall place on the side of the hwy that you will miss if you're not looking well. The waitress was very nice and efficient. She recommended the pizza and pastas. We tried the garlic cheese breadsticks and it was covered with ample mozzarella and minced garlic. If you want cheese and garlic this is for you. The cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza and lasagna were fine. We felt that the seasoning should have been more pronounced, there wasn't much flavor, but my picky eater loved it. I could recommend this for a group of kids after a soccer game. Also... be aware there is a charge for using a credit card.

We have been very pleased with Portinos in the past. We ordered a deep dish pepperoni tonight with some breadsticks. The breadsticks were dry without any seasoning. The pizza was thrown together. All the sauce was in one spot, the cheese was not melted and there was 7 pepperonis. Literally, I counted them. Also, when I called to complain the individual who helped me was very abrupt and not pleasant.

Portinos is our best local pizza in my opinion. I would consider it a high-end pizza not a cheap $5 carry out. The bambina pizza is a great deal at 6 bucks. And for some reason my orders always get messed up, but in 4 years portinos has never messed up one of my orders. That says a lot.

Food was not great, breadsticks were hard with not much flavor. Capri salad had pale tomatoes with no flavor. Thought pizza would be better. Crust and sauce not great. Took our pizza to go to feed to homeless.

I love this mom and pop shop pizza place! Portinos has a special place in our hearts. I personally love the sausage pizza. We’ve been coming here for almost 8 years.They have cute bambino personal pizzas which make a quick easy lunch on a weekend.I love they have a good size gluten free pizza!I’ve never had their subs before and woah is all I gotta say- comfort food. My fiancé and I have shared the lasagna and spaghetti ? both wicked yummy.BIG GENEROUS PORTIONSBy supporting small family run businesses keeps the dreams alive. The staff is friendly and the chefs always say hi to me when I come in. Definitely feel the love here.

Very busy with online orders , i sat down to eat and I loved it . Very spacy and the hosts were amazing . Checking on us every 5 min . I love how they know the menu so we'll .food was very warm and delicious.Vegetarian options: The eggplant is definitely a must tryKid-friendliness: Very nice , seen a couple kids running around and didn't get yelled at by anyone. They treated my son with respect as well .

Have not been out to Portino's for several years as we rarely get out to Valley Center. The food and service is still as good as in previous years. My wife and I started with a wonderful Caprese Salad. She is a real fan of Eggplant Parmesan and it did not disappoint, I enjoyed the Lasagna with meat sauce, both Entrees were excellent. Service from Sarah was outstanding, and you cannot beat the prices. If you enjoy delicious authentic Italian cuisine at a very reasonable cost, make the drive there.

Wonderful food and people. We enjoyed this restaurant immensely. Our second visit in 10 days. Casual, family restaurant with genuine Italian food. The pizza is delicious and made with fresh dough.

Service is not great, food is pretty good. Ordered a pizza and a pasta dish (very basic, nothing overly complicated) pasta came out and pizza took over 45 mins to be served after the pasta was brought out. (I think BOH didn't make it when the order was put in?)After multiple attempts to get a server to the table, I had to shout "excuse me" across the restaurant to get someone's attention (we tried to get our waters refilled and order dessert) the server never came back with water and after waiting 10-15 mins we had to go to the counter to ask for our check/ pay there because the server was MIA. I've had similar experiences the past couple of times I've come here- they're understaffed. Order to go if you plan to eat here
