SVEN HANSEN THE RIP-OFF ARTIST
Sven Hansen deserves zero stars. He had my espresso machine for 3 months, charged me more than $500, and the machine still didn’t work. He refused to honor his written warranty and refused to refund my money.
Thankfully, I was able to take my machine to a different repair shop, where they quickly and professionally fixed it for $250. They were shocked by the shoddy work that Sven had done and the exorbitant price he charged.
THE DETAILS
My machine is a Quick Mill QM67 Evo. Sven diagnosed the initial problem as mineral buildup and said my machine needed to be descaled. I told him the owner’s manual warns against that. He insisted on descaling and refused to explain why that was OK. While it was in the shop, he told me the machine was still leaking. It had never leaked before and I became worried.
FIRST “REPAIR” FAILS:
Two weeks later, Sven dropped off the “repaired” machine. The water pump struggled loudly and couldn’t maintain 8 bars of pressure—the minimum required for espresso. He said it was probably caused by the change in temperature or atmospheric pressure between his office and my home. (That’s nonsense.) He billed me $352, which I paid. I also asked him to put his warranty in writing, but he refused.
QUESTIONABLE BILLING:
I noticed later he’d billed me for an E61 group head screen and gasket, even though the existing set was perfectly good and relatively new. Sven said my gasket should be rubber instead of silicone. (Nonsense. I buy espresso equipment from Quick Mill authorized retailers.)
SVEN NO-SHOWS TWICE:
Sven agreed to pick up my machine and re-“repair” it in his shop. We set a date and time. He called the night before to confirm. He failed to show up. When I called, he made excuses and expressed no concern for my inconvenience.
We rescheduled. Sven dropped off a brand-new coffee maker as a loaner and took my QM67 to his shop. (The loaner looked like an espresso machine but the water pressure gauge had a maximum of 5 bars, if that.)
Sven promised to have my machine back on Friday because he was going to Hawaii for a month. The loaner’s gasket fell out and coffee sprayed all over my kitchen counter. I was unable put the gasket back in, so the coffee maker was unusable. Sven was a no-show that Friday.
SECOND “REPAIR” FAILS:
Sven “repaired” my machine when he returned from Hawaii. I picked it up at his shop, where he billed me $164 for installing a new water pump and a pressure relief valve. He lifted the shot lever to “prove” the machine worked. BTW, he claimed the loaner’s fallen gasket was a spare part. Nonsense. Manufacturers do not install spare parts on top of primary parts.
The next day, I pulled a shot and discovered there was virtually no water pressure, even with the backflush disc in place. Sven attempted, via FaceTime, to troubleshoot but was unsuccessful. He suggested I’d caused the problem by jostling the machine. Nonsense.
Sven came to my home days later and worked on the QM67 for nearly two hours. He said the new water pump was defective, but eventually he was able to pull a shot.
THIRD “REPAIR” FAILS:
The next day, I pulled a shot. Then, when I did a backflush rinse, the machine made loud, continuous, strange noises. The water boiler pressure gauge went into the red/danger zone and stayed there. I texted Sven with a video and photos and asked him to fix the problem. No reply. I called four days later to set an appointment for yet another “repair” because the parts were under warranty. Sven claimed the problem was the PID and accused me of “touching something.” (Nonsense.) He refused to discuss the issue further.
After wasting three months and $516 with nothing to show for it but aggravation, I found a reputable repair shop. They fixed my QM67 promptly, correctly, and courteously and ch
I won't support a company whose owner spouts racial charged nonsense on public forums by commenting whataboutism on a news story about a company fined for a job description that included "whites only."
This business is closed. They need to update their Google location.

Thanks for reaching out I did not know how to thank you. I was about to buy a new machine and would have to replace half the kitchen, now the old one is fixed by you and I could enjoy you coffee. Thanks again Sven.
Thank you Sven. Best coffee, awesome service. Your machine has made my coffee shop double our profits.
We are loving your new blend!!! Sharing with everyone we know. Thank you!!!
Reading reviews, i really don’t know who is posting these reviews especially when they never been to the place. I been going there for years and really appreciate the help and positive know-how. By the way I am Mexican if you all are wondering!!!So far my experience has been honest and straight up professional industry leader. I am just so shocked and appalled with those recent reviews and wow that is just crazy talk yall.
Owner has said some really nasty things about immigrants. Wild coming from a business in Los Angeles.. do better.edited to add: you described immigrants as an "invasion" and that they would "break into your bedroom". can you explain why you would say those things?
Horrible service

I ordered the original waffles with taro filling and they were pretty good! Service is quick and the setting is inviting. I didn't have google on my phone so I couldn't check-in, but the owner gave me a discount anyway (thank you!). Would definitely come back again.
Even though the prices changed and went up .50 on their drinks, i still love their service and this place. Quiet and peaceful for studying and chitchatting with a friend in quiet manner.
The atmosphere is like a close-knit family. Very friendly staff members who clearly has regulars and makes an effort to really connect people. I got the birthday latte (less sweet) and it was really good. My bf got the matcha latte with added honey & condense milk but it wasn't sweet at all. It was subpar at best but I'm still coming back to try all there other creative lattes!
