Asked for picarones today. Dough was salty!! And very dense! It is supposed to be airy , crunchy and slightly sweet. This one was chewy. I tried picarones a couple of years ago and they were delicious. I'm Peruvian and what I was served was not picarones at all. It tasted like pizza bread with caramel. It didn't even look like picarones at all. Unfortunately,
I asked for these disgusting picarones to go otherwise I would have asked for my money back.
Chicken is amazing. Fresh peruvian style rotisserie chicken. Their homemade mayo & sauces are creamy. Love their maracuya(passion fruit) juice. Also, their chicha morada is tasty. It can be a little pricey for certain items.
Very small, cozy place. It's hard to sit there during the summer though-it gets really hot. No public bathrooms. However, sometimes their staff is kind enough to let you use their restroom.
Food is good Been coming here a long time..

Juicy grilled chickens, large game.
golden with plenty of fries and salad.
Fine attention with promptness, patience and cordiality.
On the walls of the restaurant, beautiful phrases with phosphorescent paint on a black background, great Peruvian art with a lot of creativity.
Picarones, alfajores for dessert.
Lomo saltado is delicious, as are other dishes of Peruvian cuisine.

It's not the tastiest chicken I've had in California, but it is the smallest. Their prices are high, a 2L soda is $12.00, and they only use disposable plates, glasses, and cutlery. I don't recommend it.

Chicha restaurant...very expensive chicken and not so nice...the lady who served me was very upset or had a crazy face, it seemed like she was doing me a favor by selling me the chicken.
