Came in for a quick lunch after peeping the photos on Google maps. Was pleasantly surprised to see a new sign out front and recent remodeling inside. In the modern interior they still serve the traditional food with a punch ? had the red chilaquiles with egg and it was excellent ?

OK yelpers, I found a hidden gem! I was in Van Nuys with my family at a basketball game and after the game we decided to go get some Mexican food. We were driving in the area and I saw a sign that said grand opening, and we decided to check it out. For starters, their ceviche of all things was impeccable. It was perfectly fresh and flavored to perfection! I ordered chorizo tacos, and the chorizo was perfectly crispy on the outside and amazingly soft on the inside and I was super happy. My son ordered the carne asada burrito and he was left with a smile on his face! We also ordered the nachos which we loaded to perfection. The owner remodeled the place and the place looked great as well. We will definitely be coming back!

This place had potential, I've been coming here since 2006. I stopped going because they only take cash. I Don't mean to be rude but we are on the blink of 2023. The food is good, decent prices but the "cash only" thing just don't do it for me. The few times I've visited this place the owner always ask me "how come you don't visit us more often?" I've have told him several times that I never carry cash, he seems to get annoy by that. Oh well, Taco Llama continues to be the place.

Very small business in the neighborhood. They are in a small strip mall off major streets. Food might be fresh but it sits long. Chips have that stale taste for being under the light warmer a bit too long. No salsa bar, no condiment areas, no fountain drinks, only cash. Food portions are on the small side. Torta had just much beans as meat so it was very wet and soggy. Chillaquiles were kids bite size. Food is pre-seasoned so meat and chillaquiles were on the spicy side. I won't recommend due to the quality of food and taste.

Authenticity at its finest. If you’re looking for luxury modern Mexican food. Go to your wannabe locations. This is a hidden gem owned by a family. The owner is the greeter who takes your order and will even serve you your food. His wife is in the back cooking and making sure everything is to par. The owner was so sweet I felt like I was visiting my family back home. I ordered the huevos rancheros and a caldo de pollo for my daughter. I’m a picky eater when it comes to Mexican food but this place sold me. You know you have a great cook when they don’t use consume de pollo. The caldo tasted organic. I’m so happy to have found this location. It’s a hole in the wall but authentic In every way. The cups, the atmosphere, the plates everything felt like it was built with love.

When I used to go 6-8 years ago the owner was really nice and friendly. But when I entered a few days ago this year,the guy/the owner was very mean and rude and gave really bad service. They should really accept card not only cash, I believe not many people carry cash on them anymore.
