This seems to be a good spot to catch a bite. Until I see the prices. I don't think restaurant's care that our rent went up 4% our auto insurance by 31%, Gas always sky high, basically everything is too high. So when I come to a spot. I need to get full. I may be willing to pay more but that should mean I get more. If I spend $60 bucks eating there I don't want $25 dollars worth of food. The portions are super small. Its not just about taste anymore. Its about getting full. I'd rather spend $30 at Pollo Loco and feed the family. Rather than eat once and go home and we're all still hungry afterwards. When the portions size grow up I may eat out again but as of now. I'm only eating for value and health. That means cooking at dam home!

The food was "okay" i had a burger it's kinda hard to mess up a basic cheese burger. They had no staff. The waiter was the bartender and the drinks was so disgusting we had to complain. He had terrible food handling and hospitality skills. It was 1 cook and 1 waiter and they were extremely rude and unprofessional it was by far the worse customer service ever. I paid 60$ for a kids chicken meal and a cheese burger. It was empty we were the only ppl there definitely not worth 60$. They turned all the lights off while we were still eating. The only good thing abt this place was it was clean. Other than that i will never return. The place would have potential if it was ran properly and had a functional staff. I love trying out new food in LA that give off creole/soul food vibes. This wasn't worth my time. Worse service ever! And I'm a private chef. My rate is a 0 sorry i want to talk to whoever owns/runs this place immediately. That's how disappointed i am. Smh it was that bad!

This was hands down my FAVORITE place that I visited during my trip to LA!! The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. Our server was NEXT LEVEL!! She was very attentive, gave us everything we needed, had great recommendations, and went above and beyond!! The restaurant itself was decorated beautifully and they had the best music playing! We tried a few dishes and each did not disappoint!! From the pork chops, shrimp and grits, catfish, macaroni, to the cabbage......chef's kiss!!! And the dessert.....AMAZING!! I had the cheesecake, and I'm not a dessert guy. It was drizzled with pralines caramel....OMG!!! Check this place out of you're ever in LA!!

I would never recommend this place to anyone!! Half of the menu was not available. The server was melancholy and not personable AT ALL. Her name was Jessika P. She needs to be retrained or FIRED!! As a server myself as well as the group of people I was with we all agreed that her service was just completely unacceptable. When I said the menu was limited I mean LIMITED!! I looked up some reviews and they all said the same thing about the limited food items. When we went there was no one else in the restaurant so I'm still confused as to why everything wasn't available. Are y'all that poppin? CAN'T BE! Anyway I ordered a catfish nugget plate with a side of mac n cheese. The catfish was okay and the mac n cheese could have used some extra seasoning. My friends ordered "smothered pork chops" and sent them back. I can't even rate all the food because more than half wasn't available. We ordered a bottle of champagne that was $60. And it was COOKS!!! What a joke! Oh yeah I forgot to mention when walking in there was a FAMILY OF FLIES circling around the front door. That should have been my red flag to turn back around!! All in all 2/10 Don't recommend. The only thing I will compliment on this place is the playlist was boomin but I know for sure it wasn't Jessika's!!!

Maybe In N Out Next Door! Upon Arriving (1:00pm) We Walked In On Time For Reservation , Was Told We Can Sit Any Where Great!, As We Are Walking We Say Hello To Server (Jessika P) Before Sitting Down & Got Ignored First Day Of Black History Month Crazy I Know. Mind You There Wasn't Anyone There But US. As We Were Ordering That's When We Were Informed That Almost Majority Of The Menu Was Sold Out, Not As We Were Walking Into Establishment. She Comes Over With An Attitude And We Kept Trying To Keep Our Cool & Enjoy Our Brunch After An Hour Is When Homegirl Tried Losing Her Attitude Cause We Were Ordering A Lot & Because They Didn't Have Food Fr. It Also Took An Hour For Our Food To Come Just For It To Be Disgusting. We Ordered Champagne For Table , As You Can See It Is Cooks Champagne Which Is Very Nasty And No More Than $10, I Get Selling It For An Upcharge But $60 Was Crazy. They Should Have A Better Selection If They're Going To Charge A Arm And Leg. This Is There Smothered Pork Chop Meal As You Can See There Is No Smothering Going On Lol, Black Gravy Ok, It Also Didn't Come With Rice So You Had To Order Extra With A Side Of Gravy As You Can See, Shit Was Not To Any Liking Two People Got This Meal & Sent It Back. Ok soooooo where do I start.... Welp they didn't have anything on the menu I wanted. It was not in or they haven't got it yet type of hype. Mind you we got there for a 1:30pm reservation so everything should have been on the menu buuuuttttt the menu was out of things to pick.. I'm from Texas and I wanted certain things that they didn't have but I hope someone else has a better experience than I did... I will be in Cali again but not going here for food...

90% of the menu items were unavailable because according to the waitress, "they forgot to go grocery shopping." Without substantial food choices, we ended up with waffles as well as biscuits and gravy. The gravy was sparse and overly salted. The waffles were dry and inedible. Service was poor despite there being only 3-4 tables occupied during our meal. The waitress never came to check up on us, refill water, or ask if we'd like more drinks. If you're home and you open a nearly empty fridge feeling unenthusiastic about anything that's available, you are still in a 100% better position than dining at this place. It's "soul food" only in the sense that it kills your soul.
