Two flies on two different dishes What a horrible disappointment I order some sort of soup with rice noodles what it seems to be fried rice with shrimps some sort of sausage, a salad and a couple drinks. The rice was just insipid , zero seasoning, full of butter and I’m afraid it was fake butter because the flavor tried to resemble butter, but it was not. But here is the worst part of it. The first soup came with a little beetle floating on it. OK I get it, sometimes insects hide in between the leaves on vegetables so not a big deal. I called the waiter. He took the soup and I ordered a different type of soup. Just because I was afraid they just remove the beetle and give it back to me again. So I asked the waiter to bring me a different type of soup. This time it was a red soup with some beef stew in it, and just when I was going through half of it a fly inside the soup hiding between some noodles. What the heck is going on this place certainly Health Department needs to pay a visit. It is incredible for a single customer to get two flies or rather two insects on the same visit I couldn’t believe it. I brought this to the attention of owner or Manager, whatever she was and she very nonchalant said oh we’re sorry we won’t charge you for the soup, well, thanks lol.

Ordered 2 bowls of pho and both bowls were filled with scrap noodles from bottom of the bag. Struggled to pick up and were extremely overcooked.

Had higher expectations, but the pho broth fell flat, lacking the depth and richness I was hoping for. The bowls look big, but they’re more wide than deep, so it felt more like a medium/small portion and didn’t really fill me up. The meat was also on the rougher side.
The cha gio looked great but didn’t taste fresh it was lukewarm, and the wrapper tasted like it had been sitting out too long. Just didn’t hit the way I expected it to.
Haven’t really found good pho in LA so still looking for recommendations too!

I tried this place for the first time and I was so impressed! It was better than 3 other locations I tried! I want to thank the young man that helped me towards the end of my dining experience. I went to use the bathroom and he bussed my food. I had saved the best for last and didn’t get to eat it lol! He said he would make it for me again but I asked if it can be to go. After a little bit I must have had a sad face, he made what I had for me to go. It left a really good impression with me. I will definitely be back at this location again! It was clean! Fun and quality was amazing! Way to go guys!

I visited Pho So 1 on a Saturday morning around 10 AM with my wife. We ordered a combination pho with shrimp, chicken pho for her, spring rolls with peanut butter dip, Thai tea, and a Corona. We were asked to seat ourselves, which was fine, but after a few minutes, a server came over to take our order--I had just come back from the restroom but decided to order anyway.
The food arrived quickly, which made me question its freshness. The spring rolls looked pre-packaged, as they were stuck together, possibly stored from a nearby store like 99 Ranch (just an assumption). The food was average at best. I had to repeatedly ask for condiments like sugar, fish sauce, and soy sauce before they were brought out. The Thai tea also needed a straw, which I had to request separately.
Overall, the food was decent but nothing memorable. The service, however, was disappointing--lacking attentiveness and basic courtesy. That really tainted the experience for us. I believe good food deserves good service, and unfortunately, Pho So 1 didn't deliver on that day.
Restaurantji Recommends
Some of the best pho I've ever had filled with plenty of meat, noodles, etc. and definitely the Cha Gio appetizer gets the title of the best egg rolls I've ever had. Coupled with the friendly staff, quiet atmosphere, reasonable prices and plenty of Menu selections, this is easily a 5 star establishment. I definitely recommend checking this restaurant if you are considering this place to eat at.

I have been coming here for several years now. The correct way to eat pho is to put everything in the small plate into the soup. In addition add plenty of lime juice and hot pepper mush. Optionally thick soy sauce. When you are done with the noodles the soup will be 🤤. The essence of pho. Also the Viet coffee is very good if you like strong iced coffee. There is another secret regarding pho but I won't reveal it now. But if you pay close to my pictures you will see it.
