Barrique offers an intimate dining experience with a mix of hits and misses on the menu. The 18-month aged prosciutto and burrata appetizer delighted with its flavors, while the octopus fell short in texture. The standout dish was undeniably the beet pasta, an absolute gem that left a lasting impression. However, the ribeye main dish, though good, suffered from an abundance of fatty pieces, detracting slightly from its overall appeal. The dessert, a Panna cotta with a cherry tart topping, was a delightful conclusion to the meal, showcasing a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess that left me thoroughly satisfied. The ambiance of Barrique is pleasant, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. While not every dish hit the mark, the standout offerings make it worth a visit for those seeking inventive Italian cuisine in Venice. Overall, Barrique provides a solid dining experience that still warrants a recommendation

Valet parking charges $16 dollars to park a car next to a fire hydrant and doesn't bother to bring it back to me when leaving the restaurant. Handed me the keys and had me walk over to it. I can illegally park my car on my own and I can definitely walk over to it.

The food was exceptionally delicious and the atmosphere was very charming. My only criticism is that the food came out rapid fire and we would have liked more time between courses. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars all the way around. We did mention it to our host and he brought out an extra dessert by way of apology. I would definitely return and let the server know at the outset that we wanted time between courses.

The Pasta dishes are the way to go here, excellent, especially the quail ragu and the squid ink with lobster. The watercress salad and tuna tartar app were good, as well. The mains of duck and a turbo special were odd and not good. The duck tasted more like dried beef and I'm still trying to figure out what was going on with the fish dish.

10/10 experience here across the board. The atmosphere was so intimate and classy. We felt like we were in Europe. The service was literally amazing, shout out Miguel for being such a knowledgeable and friendly server. Lastly the food was out of this world. Would go back in a heartbeat!!

SENSATIONAL DINNER ! My wife and I were up in L.A on Wednesday staying at the Marina del Rey Marriott close to Venice Beach. After checking in around 3pm we sat in our hotel room looking online for a special place to have dinner later on. I swear we compared 50 restaurants within a few miles and only one restaurant really stood out....Barrique in Venice. My wife immediately booked a table online for 6.30pm. Being only vaguely familiar with the Venice area we took a Lyft ( just 2 miles ) to the restaurant and arrived around 6.15pm. The cute 2 story YELLOW HOUSE looked very welcoming and so was Emily the lovely hostess. We were offered a choice of the charming outdoor courtyard downstairs or the top floor dining room in the YELLOW HOUSE...we chose inside ! As soon as we entered we ran into Antonio...the co-owner & Michelin Star Executive Chef ( of 3 restaurants ) who welcomed us with open arms. As usual we beat the rush and there was no one else in the top floor dining room when we sat at our table ( we were offered seating anywhere incl the cute outdoor deck upstairs. Glasses of iced water plus an assortment of fresh Artisan Bread & Olive Oil appeared on our table courtesy of Luis the food runner & Jacob the busser. Miguel our very talented server for the evening brought all the appropriate menus for our perusal. I saw they had an incredulous selection of fine wine ( we don't drink wine ) but no beer on their drinks menu. I asked Miguel about what beer was available when he returned to take our dinner order and his reply was PERONI...better than nothing I thought so I grabbed one. A steady sprinkling of dinner patrons started to fill the dining room while we thought about our dinner order. In the end we ordered the Pan Seared Scallops Parmesan Fondue Shaved Black Truffle Appetizer to share and for entrees...my wife chose the Home-Made Black Ink Linguine Lobster Wild Mushrooms while I decided ( after consulting with our helpful server Miguel ) on the Tagliata di Manzo con Rucola Parmigiano e Balsamic Antico - Medium Rare Plus ( 12 oz Grilled Dry Aged Rib-Eye Arugula Shaved Parmesan Aged Balsamic Dressing ). Our Pan Seared Scallops Parmesan Fondue Shaved Black Truffle Appetizer ( just 2 scallops ) tasted exceptional. The dining room was filling up fast while I enjoyed my ice cold Peroni beer. And before we knew it our dinner orders arrived together and looked amazing. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her delicate Home-Made Black Ink Linguine Lobster Wild Mushrooms while my 12 oz Rib-Eye with a nice side salad tasted very good....a perfect medium rare plus ! DESSERT TIME...we both liked something different on the dessert menu so we ordered one of each....1 x Tronchetto ( Layered White and Dark Chocolate Mousse on a Hazelnut Cookie Crisp ) and 1 x Crema ( Vanilla Pot De Creme layers with Fito and Caramel ). Our delectable looking desserts arrived together and tasted outstanding....what a lovely sweet finale to an incredible evening. We had a nice chat with Antonio the chef / co-owner while we waited for our Lyft to take us back to our hotel. ONE OF OUR MOST TREASURED DINNER EXPERIENCES !

We've been to Barrique several times and it's become our favorite LA restaurant - the menus always have a range of choices - last night this included grilled octopus, scallops, pasta with black truffles, white sea bass and branzino, duck and rib eye steak - all of which were perfectly prepared and presented. There's an extensive wine list and the Amarone is a particular favorite. The staff are outstanding - attentive and professional but with LA cool and charm. The upstairs dining room has an acoustic tile treatment on the ceiling to stop echoes so although noise levels can get loud, they're never painful. Can't recommend Barrique highly enough.

I've been coming here sporadically for over 10 years. It's never disappointed. I believe it's an old house that has been converted. I always end up getting seated on the patio which is small and can be somewhat cramped. But the food is always very good with a variety of pastas that aren't found many places. It's a good date spot and different ambience, in a good way, from the normal restaurant. You should check it out.

Didn't get the table we reserved, got a patio table instead. The scallops weren't fresh. Pastas and wine were the highlight. Overall, there are better Italian restaurants within a close proximity in Venice. Went for a romantic experience, but it was quite loud and the patio wasn't great since it was raining and there's a parking lot next to it with running cars and headlights/break lights shining into your eyes throughout dinner. There are also more romantic restaurants in LA. An overrated restaurant for sure.

Excellent! All of the wines are imported from Italy. The bottle we had was incredible. Pasta was homemade and al dente which is difficult to do. I loved the creative flavors used in the dishes. We got the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection in a delicious brandy wine sauce. Will be back soon!

An incredible dinner and wonderful atmosphere! My boyfriend and I recently came back from Italy and have been craving those authentic Italian flavors. This absolutely hit the spot! We will absolutely be back in the future.

We went here because of the great reviews. Although the food was mediocre and for the taste it was overpriced. They kept delivering our food to the table next to us and just letting them keep it so we had to wait for another round. Very strange. The restaurant ambiance was attempting to be romantic and it was nice at first. But then there were cars backing up in the back alley next door, and the music didn't match, they were playing 80s rock music. Very odd. Overall I don't recommend this place for the price there are way better places in the area.

This was a tough one to review decisively.DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION ON YELP.according to the hostess, they apparently can’t get yelp to stop allowing reservations to be made. Even though my reservation was confirmed by text and email, I arrived to find out I didn’t have one at all.Regardless, the hostess found us a table after 5 minutes. It was outside, tucked all the way in the corner, but either way I was grateful for her effort in finding a solution in light of the frustrating situation. Then after sitting down I was overwhelmed with how incredibly loud it was, especially being outside. I mean like.. have to literally yell just to hear each other across the table. Pretty surprising based on all the reviews about how intimate and romantic the vibe was, this was the exact opposite. Then the rain picked up, and although we were under cover, the sides were only partially covered so right after the first course arrived.. we starting getting misted pretty heavily as time went on.It’s a bummer things started off so poorly, because our server was truly incredible. He oozed knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm. Best service I’ve had in a very long time. The food was hit or miss for me, with the wild boar Ragu being the clear stand out of the evening. Absolutely delicious, a perfect dish in every way. We also go the filet and the prosciutto, both were good, but didn’t leave a lasting impression either. For the price point, I expected a little better.

Ate on the second floor. Beautifully subtle candle light. Awesome service. Food was good but not spectacular. The watercrest salad was excellent. Great cheesecake dessert. Not expensive. I'd definitely go back.
