These empanadas tasted fine, nothing special. Maybe for people who haven't had many empanadas, they are amazing? Coffee was good but I didn't get asked if I wanted Coffee Mate and it had it. Plus, I ordered a ham and cheese empanada and got a beef one instead. The guy seemed too stressed so I just ate it, confused.

Great empanadas and coffee! Such a great stop on my way back home, will be back next time in LA.
Rico was SOOOO sweet and his empenada's are the best I've EVER had! His grandma's chimichuri is definitely what makes his stand worth stopping at. Hit him up! You will not be disappointed. Thanks for the Pic, Rico!

If you go to Venice, these are a must try. They are so delicious. I got one chicken and one beef and both were amazing, although I did like the beef one a bit more. They are full of flavor and Rico has a guarantee that if you don't like them, you don't pay. They are a bit pricey , but so are most places in Venice Beach for low quality/basic food so this is an outlier. Overall definitely recommend the empanadas.

Couldn’t buy 1 empanada to try it. Must buy 2 for 12 dollars. It’s probably not so good. Place looked like it was falling apart
Omg. We had these our last day in Venice. I wish we'd had them every day!!! They are crispy, flaky, and tender - the fillings (we got chicken and beef) we're soooo delicious - perfectly spiced, a little heat - the sauce was killer... We live in Maine and I'm literally dream of these things... seriously thinking about a return trip just to try the rest of the flavors. Rico, you are a master of your craft! Wish you shipped cross country!!!

I recently moved to Venice and am always on the lookout for the next legendary hole-in-the-wall—and wow, I think I just found one. I spotted this spot on my way to yoga, and something about it stuck with me, so I came back after class just in time for “last call.”
I grabbed a beef and a chicken empanada (already prepped, just needed a quick reheat) and… wow. 2 for $8. The crust was the perfect balance of soft and crispy, and the filling? Juicy, flavorful, and packed with seasoning. No dry bites here—just pure satisfaction.
Rico, the owner, was such a vibe—super chill and welcoming. Turns out he also gives surfing lessons and runs a shop right next door. You can tell he pours love into both his food and his community.
A gem in Venice for sure. Can’t wait to go back.

Is ok, but 15 USD for DOS EMPANADAS with a coke? That's a lot. A single empanada costs at least 1-2 USD in Argentina.
