The vibe is pure Abbot Kinney: half the crowd is “just taste-testing” while pretending not to be influencers, and the other half is seriously debating which flavor best pairs with existential dread.
Straw has carved out its niche with out-of-the-box flavors — think pickled cucumber sorbet (yes, really) or the olive oil classic, which is my personal favorite and dangerously addictive.
Bonus points to the staff, who somehow stay cheerful while juggling 47 simultaneous requests for “just a tiny sample.”
Parking? Forget it — this is Venice. Consider it part of your wellness routine.
Paid 8$ for a double scoop where the bottom was melted and the top was rock hard so their was no way to scoop it out of the tiny cup without it spilling everywhere.
It's Salt & Straw. Impeccable quality and flavors but no place to sit and peacefully eat. Gets very busy.
Great ice cream
Unusual flavours
Expensive as hell! One single scoop costs $8 with tax and tip! Yikes! But it was DELICIOUS and the customer service was great! Tip of the hat to the very professional scooper! Bravo!
I know I may sound old-fashioned, but I definitely do not like ice-cream with salt or pepper. For me, a perfect ice-cream is either a Haagen-dasz or a Gelato. So I am sorry Salt and Straw, but I am rejecting your innovative ice-creams, which, by the way is very successful, considering the lines to get served.
Disappointing to say I didn’t thoroughly enjoy the ice cream at Salt & Straw.
I got two scoops, one of cinnamon snickerdoodle and one of hazelnut cookies and cream. The cinnamon snickerdoodle was good however the hazelnut cookies and cream was by far the worst tasting ice cream I’ve ever had. Cookies and cream is one of my favorite ice cream flavors, but this variation was straight revolting. The best explanation I can say is that it tasted like expired milk.
I won’t be coming here again as I don’t want to take the risk of trying other flavors that could be a hit or miss like this time.
Unique and bold flavors. Fresh waffle cones. Friendly staff. Great experience all around
Despite a long line the staff was so kind and friendly. Highly recommend . Will definitely come back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Not a bad ice cream spot. A bit more expensive than your typical place but this is a bit more than your typical place as well so…
Interesting and awesome flavors and they give a nice portion. Worth a visit.

Amazing ice cream spot if you want to try something completely different! Salt & Straw really pushes the boundaries with their creative and unique flavors - definitely not your typical vanilla and chocolate shop. The flavors are inventive and high quality, with combinations you won't find anywhere else. It's clear they put a lot of thought and creativity into their recipes. Perfect spot for adventurous ice cream lovers!
First time customer, and absolutely loved the experience! The team at Salt & Straw was extremely helpful and gave us a tour of all the flavors with samples of nearly everything. I picked the Caramel with Sea Salt And we also got the Prosciutto with Melon. Both were phenomenal and I'll be back.
Helisa just a fantastic human being may the experience so much better I came just for an ice cream ended up staying for a chat about new flava as they were coming out all in all outstanding experience. She was fantastic.
Looovve! This ice cream is so delicious and better than Cold Stone with unique flavors. The people are so nice there too! My new ice cream spot!
Great ice cream and service the line moves quickly. I like getting a split scoop allow me to try 2 flavors without getting a double scoop.
