I showed up late so I didn't get to try everything, but the shrimp dumplings were a joy! It's dark as hell in there so if you're over 30, take a seeing-eye friend as your dining companion. Gorgeous, decor and the music finished out the mood. The parking garage that offers valet is just steps away, so don't let the location deter you. Great choice for a date.

Absolutely delicious! I came for a business event and it really did not disappoint. If you get one dish, you need to get the Dungeness crab gaucho. It was filled with umami and a ton of crab meat. Absolute 11/10. The crab dish above paired perfectly with the marinated apples and pears. It was kind of like a lettuce wrap (the apples and pears were the filling to an endive cup). It was extremely refreshing and light. I also loved the coconut rice. It could have gone style been a dessert - it comes with just the perfect amount of sweetness and a tiny little crunch from crispy yuca. I had the hanger steak and horseradish potato puree as my entree. It wasn't the best steak I've ever had, but it was very good. I enjoyed the potatoes as well, but if you don't like horseradish I recommend ordering something else - it came very strong. Last -- the drinks were really nice. My favorite I ordered was called Fair Play which came with popping passion fruit pearls. Very fun!

The food and drinks were delicious! Ambiance, was beautiful. Came on a Friday and it was very busy. However, the table we were seated at in the dining room was very awkward. I had someone's back so close to me that she flipped her hair in my face. All that said, again, the food was VERY good.

Staff and service was A+, Tuna Carpaccio was good enough we ordered a 2nd one, also the Citrus tostada was a complete standout. These two dishes alone will have us coming back. Uni shooters were interesting but messy and got everywhere. Not a big fan of the fried chicken, and agree the drinks were a little light.

For all the hype this place has gotten, I was expecting a lot more and was underwhelmed. Serving sizes are all very small, so you have to order quite a few items. The starters we tried were all fine- tuna carpaccio tostada, shrimp dumplings, curry spiced sashimi- nothing was worth going back for. For the mains, tried the Kanpachi and pork belly, with a side of coconut rice which should definitely just come with these. The mains were both good, different. Tried a few cocktails- the garden variety was very medicinal and too sweet, could t drink it. The aguachile sipper was good, nothing you couldn't find somewhere else. Service was so-so, had to ask for our waitress several times cause she didn't check in on us.

This place is real. The ambiance is ideal for a date - very pleasant, dim lighting with fantastic layout. I was there with friends and had a great time but also highly recommend it for an intimate dining experience. I was even more impressed by the waitress and hostess. They were extremely personable and approachable. I had dinner reservations at 7:45 and I get there right on the dot, and they immediately sat me down without having me wait (and it was absolutely a packed night). The food was fantastic. Just keep portions in mind. They're very tasteful, small dishes - so plan on ordering a few things. The star of the show was absolutely the uni shooters. I highly recommend ordering it. ...just order the uni shooters.

A beautiful new restaurant just recently opened in Venice! I loved the jungle vibes in one room with all of the monstera and snake plants, and the rustic vibes with rattan lights in another. Unfortunately, I think they lost their identity with their food. Glorified as a Central-American based cuisine, each dish was leaning more towards Asian-fusion, and some completely missed the spot. The yuca soup was quite heavy with the butter and spices - it was kind of a glorified pho broth honestly lol. The green banana patacones was flavorless - I was expecting more sweetness from the banana, but it just tasted like fried potato. The sauces did not compliment well due to the lacking flavor of the patacones. The shrimp dumpling was full of flavor, but very Thai-centric with the basil and scallion oil. Moreover, the tip of the dumpling is quite hard, which made me believe it's undercooked. The kanpachi was cooked very nicely, but also heavily geared towards Asian flavors, and mandatory with coconut rice. They should just include the rice with this dish. I think it's quite unforgiving that they would charge us extra for an order of rice for an entree that is in desperate need of carbs. The saving grace is the cacao yogurt- simplistic, yet full of flavor, and the orange zest brightens up the density of the dish. Overall, even though this place is very cute, I would not come back. Unrelated note - our candle kept turning off, maybe y'all need better candle designs :)

I fought between a 2 and a 3 because this place has a great ambiance, it's super cute and the food (taste wise) is definitely a 10 out of 10. The problem is the size of the food. And it's a BIG problem. Portion size would be a 1 out of 10. My favs include the tuna tartar and sashimi but we also got the green bananas and shrimp dumplings which were yum as well. We were told to order 6-8 items total for our table to share would be enough but in reality you would probably want to order 4-6 things per person, depending on how big or hungry you are. Each plate is around $10- $45 per item. We all spent about $100 each and got a tiny little bite of each item. We all left super hungry and one girl went home to make a quesadilla. I had looked at the photos of the food before going and everything looks much bigger in the photos. Their (alcoholic) drinks were good, super cute and frilly, a little weak, but that's ok... don't need to get smashed at a dinner. If you don't mind dropping a lot of cash for small portion sized expensive food, I'd say go!

Went for Valentine’s Day and had the best dining experience and meal that I’ve had in years. Best meal I’ve had in Los Angeles. Delicious and great

10/10 Romantic date night with great vibes and music Service was very attentive and knowledgeable But what stood out was the food. I've had this restaurant on my list since the Eater LA write up. Si! Mon delivered! What a unique dining experience. I've never tried Panamanian cuisine or even heard of a restaurant in LA. The chef is incredible, he really knows how to blend flavors and texture. I've had plantains many times but never fried like this. The kanpachi ceviche had dehydrated plantains to scoop up the deliciousness. The fried plantains were so crispy yet fluffy. Shrimp dumplings, better than din tai fung. And the baked oysters! I usually love raw oyster and steer clear from the baked ones, but damn, this was delicious! I could taste the butter and the achiote oil that gave it a nice kick. Not one disappointing dish. Also had the uni shooters 10/10 yuca soup 10/10 and the crispy pork belly 15/10. Will be back to try the rest of the menu. If you want to impress a date or show someone you love them, book a table at Si!Mon

this was such a weird dining experience. my friends had a reservation for 3 and i decided to go with them to see if the restaurant could squeeze me in as a fourth. we got there and the hostess immediately told us no, we couldn't be seated until an hour and a half later (almost 10pm) with an added person, without doing any checking at all. she claimed that the table could physically only seat 3 people, that it had 3 sides and 1 chair per side so i was turned away. kind of odd, but i went ahead and left. fast forward 5 minutes and i get a call to come back from my friend because they were seated at a 4-top... i was put off and didn't really want to go back in but a friend who i haven't seen in years convinced me to come have dinner. when i came in we did not see the type of table she was talking about anywhere in the restaurant so we assumed she just didn't feel like helping ? for "dinner," if you can call it that, the food is fine but the portions are comically small and everything is extremely expensive. like 1 bite of food per dish for 4 people they also have NO salads or vegetables/healthy sides. we asked our waitress and she said the closest thing on the venue was the glazed apples and pears. no veggie options in LA?!! giving 2 stars because the wait staff/bussers were lovely . ospi across the street is lovely if you're in the area looking for a yummy nice dinner spot

As a career restaurant manager I am incredibly hard to please. Because I manage restaurants for a living I can sometimes be a bit critical of food, beverage, service, and ambiance. Si! Mon executed all of those categories perfectly. Food was balanced, layered with flavors that captured the essence of Latin cuisine. Something as simple as a tostada was just loaded with flavor with the perfect amount of acid. Service was on point, it’s very easy to miss service steps in a place that does tapas (small shareable plates) but we were bussed and marked for more rounds of food at every turn and never needed to ask for anything. Cocktails and wine selection for perfect for the style of food. Short wine by the glass list, BUT, perfect choices to be paired with the menu. Ambiance, three different vibes. Inside, more upscale and swanky. Patio, Tulum vibes… sexy.. casual… tower heaters added great ambiance. “Upstairs” more intimate, less noise, great for a date. Well done! Hope you guys get a James Beard nod for best new restaurant

We were visiting from NC, and Si! Mon was our favorite dinner spot. The tuna carpaccio yuca tostada and the dumplings with coconut rice were amazing! Wish we were local so we could go back.
