It's a bit pricy, but you're at the beach, so it's to be expected! Very good service and excellent food! Was the only clam.chisWhere around for miles!!! ??

My boyfriend and I visited The Anchor recently and had such a great time. They have a few new things on their menu and we were so excited to try them - and we were not disappointed! The lobster roll was delicious - as always! We also got oysters, calamari and the scallop ceviche. The oysters were so fresh and the calamari was cooked perfectly. My personal favorite from the meal was the scallop ceviche. The flavors were incredible and the fresh ceviche paired perfectly with the plantain chips. We love coming here when we’re in Venice and always recommend it to friends and family looking for great food, drinks and music with the most kind, thoughtful and fun staff!

Cozy local eatery with traditional beach side classics. We were promptly greeted and seated with smiles all around. The service was truly exceptional but the food took awhile. Although, the quality and freshness made that compensated for that. The lobster role was good and the fish and chips were crispy and seasoned well. We will definitely be coming back.

The place, service and food were good. Why 3 stars? The portion to price ratio was not impressive at all IMO.Had the lobster roll which taste great, but don't expect to be full for your $30 order. Its 3 pieces of hawaiian bread that constitutes a whole roll with the lobster filling on top so it looks more substantial until you push it in the bread where it is supposed to be. Its $10 per hawaiian bread square for that entree, tacos break down to $10 per fish taco, no sides with the dishes.... seriously?!?! A little too steep for a snack.

Came for the Lobster Roll, stayed for the grilled shrimp tacos. Seriously, some of the best shrimp tacos ever, you gotta try them. And I love that they place two tortillas per taco. Also, they are so sweet and nice and kind!

Service was amazing from the couple duo..they know who they are. Enjoyed the bottomless mimosas and loved the Lobster options. The Lobster roll is delish! Nice outdoor seating. So many dishes I'm looking forward to trying.

Came to Anchor on a Sunday evening after walking miles along the beach. It's a small, casual place that gives off beach bar vibes. The menu is seafood-focused and limited, in a good way. We wanted a light snack/dinner so we shared a Lobster Roll, Fried Calamari, and two Ballast Point Sculpins. The Lobster Roll was quite good and packed with meat. One side of my bun was bordering on burnt. Calamari was nice and crispy and we could taste that hint of old bay in the dredging. Our beers were room temp which was a little disappointing. Im guessing our cold beers went into warm glasses. Our server was kind and the only one seeming to work the tables that night besides one other person that went between the bar and kitchen. He was a little slow at times, but understandable as he was also juggling another table with 11 people. Loved this little spot and was happy to try it while I could!

Went with my girlfriend Tuesday night I ordered the lobster roll and she ordered the lobster soup. A few hours later we were both taking turns to vomit and have explosive diarrhea. Don’t recommend coming here if you don’t want to get sick.

Found this place looking for seafood restaurant. No indoor seating but staff are excellent and attentive. Excellent food a lot of lobster, crab or calamari on each dish. If we are in the area again we will be back!!!

stopped by for breakfast and bottomless mimosas. service was amazing and the breakfast arrived quick and was great. i got french toast, while my cousins got the fried chicken burgers. mimosas were constantly refilled, the french toast went smooth, and my cousin gave me a taste of the burger and it was saucy?. looking forward to trying the lobster later.

My fiance and I were intrigued by The Anchor's unique signs/taglines while passing through the area earlier in the afternoon, and after seeing good reviews on Yelp, we decided to return for a light dinner on our way back. The seating is all outdoors, you can either sit at tables in the inner patio or the ones on the sidewalk.Service was fast and prompt, and they brought us waters quite quickly. The water tasted a little weird, not sure if it was just from straight LA tap water or possible contamination from other food/fish? We ordered the old bay fried calamari and lobster roll and waited probably around 15-20 minutes for the food to arrive. If you need to use the bathroom, they have shared bathrooms for the shopping plaza around the corner where the parking lot is and keys to unlock the men's and women's.The calamari was crunchy, flavorful, and bite-sized. The grilled lemon was juicy and helped add some freshness to the calamari. My fiance didn't enjoy the calamari as much because he felt it was too oily/heavy without a lot of squid, but I thought it wasn't that bad. The cocktail sauce was good, but neither of us enjoyed the spicy mayo (or maybe it was mayo with old bay?) served alongside and underneath the calamari (for plating) and would have preferred it without having any sauce placed underneath to keep it crunchy. The lobster roll was pretty good, with large chunks of lobster on a buttery toasted brioche bun. My fiance loved it. Our server checked in on us multiple times to make sure we were doing okay, so service was good.Overall, pricing is not the cheapest at this restaurant for the small portions (I think it was around $50+ pre-tip for what we ordered), but it is a seafood restaurant in Venice/Santa Monica. My fiance said he would return for the lobster roll and try their oysters next time. As for me, I would want to try their clam chowder or fish tacos if we visit again.
