Great vibe and excellent bands booked regularly. It's a great place to find new bands that you haven't heard of before. The food is alright, great bar and the live music is excellent

Horrible treatment. Was having a drink here with a friend when our other friend came to join us. However he was not allowed in due to “dress code” because he had on sandals, despite the fact that we were also wearing sandals. The bouncers were I credibly rude, chose to humiliate him for his shoe choice and laughed in our faces. I will never come here because of this horrific behavior and treatment of customers.

Coolest bar in Venice! The Del Monte Speakeasy is a must visit when in the area. I randomly ended up here and am very glad I stumbled up with gem. I wouldn't call it a hidden gem as it is pretty well known and has been around since 1915! The drinks are amazing, service is great, and they have live music. There was a DJ playing when I came here. So cool, cannot wait to come back.

There are several larger bars on the same street but this one has a good vintage vibe. However, the drink prices are high. They do make a good martini. Main bar is lively with a side room with booth seating in a dimly lit room. They also have a speak easy part where they have shows and burlesque sometimes. It’s a good place to go and have a cocktail or two after spending the afternoon at the beach or skate park.

Expensive place with mediocre drinks...just trendy, apparently

Been here twice now.. the two horror stories I’ve heard from friends have proved to probably be true. Went to the bathroom for less than 2 minutes and my drink was thrown out. Bartender made me feel like it was my fault. Drinks are overpriced and the place is boring. Me and several employees who live down the street won’t be coming back sorry ? Troy is cool

Loved the vibe downstairs where there house music was playing. The vibe upstairs was much younger crowd and the co-ed bathroom was a little strange, but I still had a great time.

Nice atmosphere and some good electronic music in the basement. Nice place to go out with some friends and talk early in the night and it gets more crowded towards the end of the night so its a fun spot

Worst Bar I’ve ever been too Security guard charged me $75 and the person in front slid the security guard $20, didn’t show id and was let in for $50 for entry never seen such an expensive cover fee and disappointing to see different prices per person.

This place was packed and I usually appreciate that but not to the point you can't get a drink waiting in every line at the bar and then being told the security guy is new and you have to leave for wearing a very expensive hoodie I will try again tomorrow with a button up ??

The worst bar ever! I was having the time of my life with my friends. There was a beautiful spot on the other side of the bar. There was no one around at that corner. I was clicking a picture there when a lady working there charged at me and my friends, took our drinks and asked to get out. While I was trying to have a conversation, all she did was yell, "Get out!!!" She wouldn't even have a conversation with us. Neither did we disturb anyone or we made any noise. I had the most embarrassing time in my first two weeks at LA as a non-American.
