Tocaya is so cute inside and out and the food is great. It is modern Mexican and a lot of it is super healthy, but don't let that stop you, it is also fantastic. The service is nice and friendly. They are there for you and they get your order right. The place is always so clean. You can have it delivered or do take away or dine in. We like to to dine in. It is just a very relaxing place. Our favorite thing at Tocays is their bowls. I love the taco salad, which is gluten free and has achiote chicken, kale & romaine, avocado, grilled corn, roma tomatoes, black beans, cabbage, red onions, tajin tortilla strips, cilantro, queso oaxaca and a wonderful roasted poblano dressing. Their kale and quinoa bowl is also super yummy with adobo tofu, organic baby kale (lots of it), quinoa salad, garbanzo beans, lime pepita seeds, lima beans, pico de gallo, sliced avocado (add more please), vegan chipotle jack & red wine vinaigrette. Their tacos and chips are also great. We like their salmon taco with charred tomatillo rice, lime crema, serrano frita salsa, and cilantro. Now the tacos are pretty small so you will want a few. Also try the tinga taco with chicken tinga, crispy fried onions, and lime pepita mole. This one is spicy so if you are not a fan of spice order something else. They also have super burritos. We just love this place.

My fiancée and I arrived to Venice in search of a quality drink and bite to eat. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff and a warm ambiance. We each ordered a hibiscus Paloma and tacos, as well as chips with guacamole and street corn. The drinks and the food were absolutely incredible, ESPECIALLY for the price. We will be back -- in fact, this place will be an entire reason to drive over to Venice more often!

The food was terrific, and the price was right. My only negative experience was that a blonde guy with a ponytail and earrings was one of the rudest service workers I’ve interacted with in a while. I politely asked him to direct me towards the bathroom while I was waiting in line, and he literally blinked and stared at me. I asked again, thinking he had an understood me, and he told me to ask someone else. Ok? Clearly you know where the bathroom is…he just seemed like he wanted to be a jerk. Too bad because everyone else was super nice

Have you ever been to a Mexican restaurant and thought the food was light? Yeah, me neither. This restaurant manages to offer authentic Mexican food without the heaviness that makes you feel like you ate a rock after you ate your meal. The flavors are there but the extras are not. I ordered the Taco sampler. My wife ordered the shredded kale and quinoa bowl. We also got the plantain chips and guacamole. The service was great. You order on the phone, they bring you the food. We did not have to wait long. The decoration of the place was appropriate. We went to the original one in Venice so it was a little bit grungy but that was okay. I wouldn't order the cookies. Nothing to write home about.

Uber Eats refuses to provide a refund or any compensation and is fraudulently charging me for this order which I did not place. I placed an order specifically stating no beans.

Overall a solidly decent experience, not bad not good. The glass for my beer had red spice stuck inside (apparently from the margarita rim salt), and the carne asada was overcooked and tough enough that it should have been marinaded first. Flip side: the flavors were really good, presentation was nice, and the shop is cute.
