I hate Venice Beach but would be willing to drive back there for this place. The barbacoa de borrego was superb as was the flan. (Seriously, do not leave without the dessert. Thank me later.) Could not believe how knowledgeable our server was about gluten-free dining. Excellent service, food, ambience.
We had booked a reservation through open table and still had to wait over an hour to be seated. After the wait, they tried to seat us at the bar immediately by the door which was cold and drafty. I didn't accept and asked for a proper table which they did eventually provide. While the staff were very polite, the overbooking and lack of care for a reservation means I am unlikely to ever come back. We were offered cocktails while waiting, but even with the ridiculous wait there...
Perfect choice for our weeknight get-together with friends. The patio vibe was just what we wanted, and the Oaxacan food was amazing. We craved something different and the cuisine here is delightfully so. Excellent carne asada plus refreshing hibiscus drinks plus awesome location equal superb casual summer dining!
