When “street” becomes chic.
I’ve always found it strange eating what’s essentially street food in an upscale setting—like having tacos at the Ritz. I grew up in Indonesia surrounded by this cuisine—on the streets, in stalls, restaurants, and even my family’s hotels—so I was a bit skeptical about trying Wallflower. My date insisted, and I’m glad she did.
The team here nailed the balance. Ambience, service, and food all work...

Amazing, elevated Vietnamese in a very cool setting. We were treated well all around, and loved every dish. We ordered four items for two people, but we could have easily gotten away with three. We left with extra food, and a great experience. Well done.
Anyways, Wallflower is a vibrant and inviting Indonesian place on Abbot Kinney. The bathrooms are wonderful, the outdoor space is fun, and the inside looks magnificent.
The service is also really lovely. They’re very down to earth, passionate, knowledgeable, and helpful! ...
