The staff was friendly and great customer service. The fried chicken, wow! the batter was light, crunchy, and delicious. We chose Willie Mae's because it was my mother in laws name. We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary at a special place. It was the perfect atmosphere and the meal was excellent.

Listen, I have just about had it with this joint. We always order via UE and the delivery is always fine. The rice that comes with the bowl (not cup) of gumbo is about a tablespoon portion. Tonight it was hard like it was never cooked or cooked and left out from a day or 2 ago. Our gumbo which we typically enjoy was ruined after we spooned it over the rice. At least this time they remembered our entire order. Y'ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!! Oh yea, the butter beans are gross.

Just as good as I remember the chicken being in NOLA. I do miss the homey feel of the original but the friendliness of the servers more than makes up for it. Hope to visit when they reopen in New Orleans.

I have the fried chicken And it was horrible. It looked like he was fried that morning when I order it it was in my table less than two minutes so it tell me the fried chicken was pre-cooked horrible.

First time trying this place and it was goodThe chicken was fried and seasoned perfectly. First bite was not like any chicken I’ve ever tried it was like a spongy soft crunch, chicken was juicy. Juice dripped of the meat. Next bite with hot sauce was exactly what I was expecting. First time trying red beans and rice and those flavor’s just kicked in it wasn’t plain like other places the spices were all present ,combined corn bread with that ?. Next moved to the gumbo never had that and it was yet again another banger the amount of flavor and sea food there was right sausage shrimp chicken crab and idk what else but I took that down straight up…I recommend this place must try and eat it fresh I’ll be back for the rest of the menu

ORDER TO GO, DO NOT EAT IN!! Came to Willie Mae's to celebrate my best friend's birthday since this is one of the few places in LA for Louisiana food.I really wish we had never stepped foot in this place.Right from walking in, it smelled like Bourbon street but not in the good fresh seafood boil way. It was obvious cleanliness was lacking but as they only had one chef and one waitress I figured sometimes it's hard to clean throughout the day.We were seated by the waitress with braces and told she would come back with water and to take our order. 70 minutes passed before she came back to take our order only after 2 repeated attempts to stand up and ASK for service. We then placed an order that never came. That's right, we sat for 2 hours and 15 minutes only for them to continually tell us that food would be out in 10 minutes and then disappear for another extended period of time. The chef even came out to tell us that fresh chicken was going to be coming out. They explained that the wait was because of so many catering orders. I would've understood this but every other table that came in got service, food, and their check. It wasn't even BUSY!
