The food was, in short, not very nice. The poutine was not poutine at all and the gravy was horrible. My burger was OK at best. The general consensus of the table was that this restaurant was a mistake, and that we should have gone to the pedestrianised area up the road.

Sadly, I feel like it's gone downhill, they use a QR code for the menu as well as for your order (drinks and food) there's little to no staff, aside from a single bartender and busboy. Disappointing experience. The food is the only redeeming factor, the food is still excellent.

This is one of my favorite spots to eat in Ventura !! The food is sooo amazingly great ! I usually get the Avenue burger and garlic truffle fries , my hubby gets the Freddie burger with grilled jalapeños and an egg on top !! Food is so good !!!!! We also enjoy the beers they have a sampler ! You choose your beers and then bring them out in this cute sampler plate ! So good ! We have so many favorite beers , IPA’s , mixed drinks !! Kids love it too ! Everyone is friendly and attentive ! The place is clean and fun !

Girls working here are kinda valley hood. No menus unless u ask the very busy staff. No scan menu. Came in 20 min before happy hour ended and never got a chance to order from the happy hour even though we tried several times. By the time she have us any attention it was conveniently over.

For a short trip to downtown Ventura, I always try to get a meal in at the 101 Barrelhouse. They always seem to have a beer for any mood you're in, from warm days coming up from the beach to overcast days with drizzle. And now they even have hard seltzer and ciders on tap.The portions here are fairly generous, and IMO the prices are average for a brew pub restaurant, and the food is top notch in my book. For example my wife and I recently ordered the $20 short rib poutine garlic truffle fries, and each a burger entree. I was expecting a handful of fries with gravy and touch of short rib. What we got was a full plate of garlic truffle fries with gravy and a generous portion of short rib. We ate about half of the app. I'm 6+ feet tall and over 250lbs, and barely got through my Rodeo Burger (which was excellent), but my wife only got in two bites of her patty melt before she tapped out.We took a fair amount of food home, which was really good the next day for snacks. From the Buffalo Barrels, to the truffle fries, to the various burgers, to the Mac and cheese, I have not been disappointed. ... And don't get me started on the tap selection. It's pretty amazing to have such a varied and wide selection to choose from.

My friends and I dropped by Barrelhouse 101 for karaoke, but it wasn't on that night. Despite the initial disappointment, we enjoyed our visit. The place wasn't too busy, and the menu offered fantastic burger, sandwich, and salad options. The craft beer selection was impressive, with the bartender offering helpful recommendations and even letting us sample drinks before ordering. Prices for craft beers were reasonable, and the service was excellent. While the atmosphere would have been livelier with more people, the outdoor covered patio and uncovered portion were nice additions. Overall, despite the off-night, I'd definitely return for the great beer selection and service, hoping for a livelier crowd next time.

Great food. The Ahi crisps were delicious, and the Cali cheesesteak was hot and tender. French fries were slightly breaded and crunchy. Looks like 50 beers on draft. Good prices.
