Himalaya Restaurant Ventura

We just had this catered at a wedding for a family member. We were really impressed. Only second time I’ve had Indian food, I was happy to hear the restaurant is located in Ventura. I would be happy to say the food is very good and would highly recommend to it anyone. It was delicious and full of wonderful flavors.

The most delectable Indian food I’ve ever had! The Tikka Masala is out of this world divine. Service was outstanding. Vibes are also immaculate— I love their board that rotates Rumi quotes. It was everything.

Great food and great service

As usual, the food, ambience, service and day were fabulous! As a vegan, it’s so easy to satisfy all your food desires. Also, the dog friendly it’s lovely to sit on the patio with our pup Luna. The menu is extensive and satisfies non-vegans as well. Enjoy!

We were traveling through Ventura when we happened to come across this restaurant. The food was amazing! We have experience from living overseas with this style of food and have to say that it was some of the best. We felt like their Samosas were some of the best we ever had. Their Lamb Tikka Masala, Coconut Chicken Curry, and Garlic Naan bread was delicious. We ordered extra to take with us for another meal. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Been to the restaurant couple of times because of the ambience and decent Nepali food which is rare to find in Ventura. Recommend to friends and family, even took some of them for dinner but last of couple of times I noticed that the servers are poorly trained and unable to nicely manage customers. All together the dining experience was very poor.

I will not be returning to the restaurant because of the service quality.

I am a regular here and the food is delectable! Everything is good; not a bad menu item!

If you’re unsure about what to get, I would recommend the appetizers or street food of India section on the menu.

Wow, just wow! As a Miami Florida native, I wasn't expecting to find a gem like Himalaya Restaurant in Ventura, California. But boy, was I blown away! The moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for a treat. The quality of the food was exceptional, and the flavors were a perfect blend of Asian and Indian cuisine. As someone who normally sticks to traditional Asian and Indian restaurants, I was hesitant to try something new, but Himalaya exceeded my expectations. The dishes I tried were not only delicious but also expertly crafted, with a great balance of spices and textures. I'm so glad I discovered this hidden gem, and I'll definitely be back for more in the future when I come back to California. Highly recommend to anyone looking to spice up their dining experience!

I've only been to a few Indian restaurants but this one by far has the best food I've ever tasted. A great atmosphere, an attentive staff, nice art soothing music. Remember to give your phone number if you plan on coming to the restaurant more than once you can get discounts after a certain amount of visits. And it's not just Indian food get food from all over that particular region of the world. On a side note the bathroom are very clean. The aroma is wonderful as well. Just remember this is only one of three similar restaurants that have been to my whole life and I'm 45 keep that in mind.

Very cozy restaurant with amazing food and service! Highly recommend the jack fruit masala curry, kothay, and Chana Masala. Overall, i keep coming back not only for the food, but their friendly service and atmosphere.

Our first time at Himalaya Restaurant. We had Attentive service and amazing dishes. The best butter chicken I’ve ever had, so buttery and delicious. The lentil soup was spectacular and garlic naan so good. My hubs had the lamb curry, he said he could have licked the bowl clean. He plans on trying the goat next time! Our table neighbors had the tandoori chicken and it smelled and sounded good as it went by.
