Happy to have stopped by . I got to see Leia and it was such a pleasure to talk to her. She had a huge smile and is genuinely happy to be serving amazing food! I got Lumpia , Sticky Pork, Turon × 2. So good!!!I'm kicking myself because I didn't go more often! I got a few items for myself and a friend. She loved everything as well. Sad they're closing but I know good things are ahead for this family. Place wasn't busy but there had been a rush. A lot of the desserts were sold out. Spot is clean ! Little place in a strip mall but cute!

I love this place, unfortunately, this is their last weekend-they are closing. Thank you for your yummy lumpia, pancit and adobo! You'll be missed

We ordered a few dozen crinkle cookies for our wedding reception and were quite disappointed with what we received. The cookies were not consistent with the ones we had tried in the store or what is advertised on Mestiza’s website and Instagram. The cookies did not spread in the oven and instead look like lopsided balls covered in powdered sugar. We had ordered the cookies for our wedding mainly because of the beautiful presentation. We expressed our disappointment to Mestiza, and they showed little concern, explaining that they can “never, ever guarantee how our baked goods will look when they come out of the oven.” As a customer, I think it is a reasonable expectation that the cookies we ordered would be consistent with what we had tried in the restaurant and what is advertised on their website and social media. It is misleading to advertise crinkle cookies, and then provide different cookies that do not look like the photos. I've attached photos of what we thought we were ordering vs. what we received. So just beware if you're ordering ube crinkles for an event, they may turn out like ours did.

Mestiza kitchen has definitely become one of my favorite Filipino fusion hidden gems here in the 805. Ran by an awesome and super sweet family. Small place but super cute, cozy & CLEAN! One of my favorite items is definitely the Turon! It's a dessert lumpia filled with banana and Jack fruit served warm and oh my my my! If you haven't tried one you MUST!Another favorite item is the Sisig bowl/ Sisig Fries! Whatever version you get you will not be disappointed! And of course the famous Ubechata amaaaaazing! But let me tell you if you're in the mood for something a little more tangier you have to try their Calamsi juice. Wow!

I purchased the combo with 12 pieces of lumpia, pancit and rice. I am accustomed to eating Filipino food. This is by far the worse I have tasted. All of it was without flavor. The lumpia did not have any vegetables in them. BlandThe pancit set had a funny taste to it. The onion's had that kind of odd taste like green onions that have been sitting around for a while. Tje pancit was tasteless without a good flavor. It was my first visit. I do not plan to revisit this place again. In a conclusion, what a waste of my money.

I was not impressed with their food, I had the "adobo bowl" thought it comes with noodle (pancit) but it was just chicken adobo that was almost shredded and whole of half eggs and white rice, my taste was bland and in addition to that I ordered a halo halo, different from what am used too, I also ordered an ube flan, too sweet for my taste, don't think am going back there again, Island Pacific fast food section has more authentic filipino variety for their selections, sorry guys

Very cute fusion Filipino shop in the (old) Toys R' Us shopping center off Johnson. Found this place accidentally while getting my nails done next door. Of course I had to head to Yelp to check out the food pics! I came here for the malaking combo (other Yelpers have posted) but they no longer serve that. Needless to say, I was very bummed. The staff was incredibly nice, gave recommendations, let me sample the Ube Horchata (Ubechata). OH DANG! This stuff is amazing! I got the wing combo, pork bowl, pork bun. They neglected to tell me they were out of the sauce for the bun which (as a sauce queen) I was not happy about... but on its own it was killer (but still needed a sauce to compliment it). I was not impressed by the pancit but the lumpia and wings were great. The thing that absolutely shines for this place is the DESSERT! Very unique, flavorful, beautiful presentation. They make great gifts and are even better for parties. The ambiance is very cute and the staff came around to chat a bit and check in, very hospitable. Good amount of seating, very clean. Support small business, folks! Give this place a try! It's a definite gem!

Food was mediocre and very small servings for the amount you paid for (expensive )!Service is good and very friendly environment. Both owners and the rest of the crew go out of their way to ask you if there is anything else they could assist you with!Ambiance is warm and hospitable!

Yummy Filipino food in Ventura! A family and woman run business with delicious Filipino classics like adobo rice bowl, lumpia, lechon, sisig, siapao, and exciting spins on classics like adobo fries and ube cheesecake.A dozen ube crinkle cookies are choice to bring to any party! Crispy and creamy and chewy in the most delightful way.The recent decor update is super cute and adds to it feeling like a visit to your grandma’s or best friend’s family’s house for an amazing homemade meal.Mestiza Kitchen is open Thursday through Sunday, which makes it a really special treat.

If you're looking for a Filipino restaurant that offers flavorful, fresh, authentic food, Mestiza is the place for you! This cozy, family-owned business is nestled in the old Toys-R-Us Shopping Center, right next to Cronies off Johnson. From the first bite to the last, you can taste the love and passion that goes into every dish. Their savory dishes are flavorful and always arrive hot, but what truly sets Mestiza apart is their weekly rotation of impeccable desserts - They're a work of art!Mestiza takes dessert to the next level with their unique flavors and the creative spin they put on Filipino classics. Never too sweet. And Ube fans: You're in for a treat because this place is UBE HEAVEN! Cookies, cakes, puddings and even Ubechata, a refreshing and balanced Ube Horchata beverage that's addictive. My current (and permanent) obsession is their Flan. I simply can't get enough of their FLAN: Ube, Mango, Pandan... I love and need them ALL!To top it all off, the owners are some of the sweetest people we've met. Talking to them will surely brighten your day. Easily one of my Ventura County favorites. Highly recommend!

I've seen them at food festivals and finally came to the storefront. This place is adorable! And the food is ON POINT!!! The Bicol Express is my new favorite along with the Ube Siopao. Delicious! Everyone should try this place!

You’re looking at what my husband describes as ‘the best piece of cake he’s ever had in his life’. We’ve been to mestiza quite a few times and it is consistently phenomenal. All of their desserts are literal perfection.. the ube crinkle cookies, the pandan tres leches cake.. also do yourself a favor and get yourself an ube horchata. I could literally eat like 100 of their lumpias. Drop what you are doing and go here now! You will not be disappointed!

Cute little restaurant hidden between a few shops. Food was incredibly delicious and the service was really good. Several types of lumpia served, ube desserts, and my personal favorite adobo fries. In a city with a few really good restaurants, this is up there with the best.

One thing we did not take pics of was the dessert! We love the calamansi desserts and tried the ube space cake. The owners are nice. I wish there was more to the veggie bowl other than just white rice with veggie lumpia. I enjoyed the lumpia though. Cute small place with two huge awesome dining tables.
