Went at 8 am and the best things were already gone, but still lots left.Sea urchin ($8 each!!)The sea urchin here is unbelievably fresh! It was still moving when I ate it. So tasty raw, and the person who sold it to us helped us open it! With 2 spoons!Oysters ($25 per dozen)The oysters are from Morro bay and are quite delicious :) Very fresh and very inexpensive!Steamer clamsThe steamer clams I bought were not that fresh (slightly open and wouldn’t close), but I think next time I need to just watch out a bit more when I buy them.
Almost same price as grocery store but you have to gut and scale your fish. About 3 small fish stands only.

This review is just for the Spot shrimp vendor, everybody knows crabs and fishes are very fresh here, but the shrimp vendor told me dead shrimp just came in yesterday with the price $16/lb and the live shrimp also from yesterday $26/lb, and this vendor brought out a bag full of shrimp from the under counter, didn’t say anything, put them to the existing ones and weigh for me, I just thought seafoods here all fresh, and very few vendors here, can anyone cheat customer? Omg, they did! I will come back to ask this vendor, how did you make yesterday’s shrimp taste like two years frozen? Shame on you!

Well worth a stop! Great to think that your money is going directly to the fisherman. Also literally couldn't get any fresher fish for the price anywhere else. The guys are all very friendly. Stop by as soon as you can. Opens at 6am and the going is best then.
Excellent open air market -- It's kind of a farmers market for fisherman in a parking lot near the dock. The selection varies based on the fisherman's catch and the time you arrive at the market. If you are looking for crab arrive early. The market opens at 6:00 am on Saturday. Shrimp are plentiful and inexpensive.
