We had dinner here during our stay in Visalia. The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere where current sports are played. They have a lot of home-brewed beers, appropriate ones from Sequoia National Park.
The menu had many tasty choices, all for a good price. Especially considering the portions you get. The food itself also tasted very tasty and you have plenty of options to personalize your dishes.
The service itself is also very attentive and friendly.
This place is a great place if you're looking for a place to have dinner in Visalia!
Won't return. Their mashed potatoes come from a bag and don't taste good. My caesar salad had several pieces of lettuce that had already started to brown or were soggy. Based on the bad salad and bagged potatoes, I don't think the cook cares about his/her job and the food is not worth the price (just go to Chili's). Their IPA was okay.
I don't enjoy giving bad reviews and I understand things come up in the service industry at times, but... I looked forward to visiting Sequoia Brewing while in the area, as I always enjoyed their bottled and canned beer but had never been to their brick-and-mortar. Unfortunately my memories will include a dirty and unkempt facility, a 35 minute wait on a $15 pretzel that was clearly cooked in an oven that had just burnt something, and two flat beers. It kinda feels like a bit of a tourist trap, complete with big city prices; disappointing for a place whose beer I always respected.
I must say that all the staff was excellent, however! Especially the bartender!
So I had never been here always driven by or walked by, but this afternoon taking my niece here to have lunch was one of the best decisions I've made.
Let me start with the home made root beer that was really smooth tasting and was a hit!
My niece ordered the "Big Daddy goes to Texas" and if your in the mood for a big burger this is it Let me tell you, the smoked steak flavor on that burger was amazing, it was stacked with onion rings and crispy bacon and the BBQ sauce was the pack to the punch.
I ordered the "Sequoia Chicken Sandwich " smoking hot style, and the chicken was breaded in panko crust and a grilled jalapeño smothered in buffalo sauce and monterey jack cheese. The garlic fries where perfect not overpowering at all I truly recommend this one. I'm going back to have the whole burger cause I split it with my niece lol. Our waiter Gilbert was very helpful and on his description on the dishes we had questions on. I'm glad he recommended that chicken sandwich I can't stop thinking about it.
They have a bunch of starter plates that sounded so good as well, give them a try the location and environment is perfect and will compliment any person.
First restaurant nacho that had toppings with every chip. Pretzel was so delicious!
We were passing through on our way up to Oakhurst and we are so glad we stopped here foe lunch! The food was fantastic with huge portion sizes, and the beer was even better. Mikahla was our server and bartender, she is absolutely fantastic and sweet! You can tell she loves be there and makes everyone feel welcomed!
One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. Beer, meh.
The tri tip sandwich was very tender and good flavor. The steak bites appetizers were also marinated in a great sauce and very tender. The nachos appetizer was great.
The atmosphere was very casual and it was cabin style inside with a nice bar and lots of IPAs. There was so much seating so you can have a small party in the first room or
A large seating available in the room next door. The servers were very friendly and it
Was a very pleasant experience
Our travel was August 2024, we loved it, their special CEVICHE was delicious, we tried all beers, were really good, definitely is a most do when you are in Visalia. Ticket was not expensive as we expected to be in California.
The food here is equivalent to eating at an applebees, mediocre, a large menu with nothing done well. We startrd with the blue cheese steak bites which was an au jus with blue cheese in it, toasted sourdough, & pieces of steak, it was good but not great, the steak was cheap, tough & fatty, not worth $17. My SO had the salmon BLT for dinner & the salmon was over cooked & didnt taste fresh (bad fishy taste) the bacon was way over cooked (rock hard). I had the fish tacos, i cant comment on the fish quality because they were really soaked in pico de gallo. The pico de gallo had some spice which i enjoyed but there was so much on the tacos you couldnt taste anything else & made the taco shells completly soaked so they just fell apart. There also wasnt much else on the tacos, a tiny bit of shredded iceberg lettuce & that was it. The shoestring fries were good. My SO had the pretty in pink mixed cocktail which was a good balance of sweet but not too sweet, it was very weak though. As for the beer we tried 3 types; half dome, blossom trail, & the thunderhead amber. They werent overly carbonated so you could taste them and they were all good if you enjoy mild beers. Even the thunderhead was mild & didnt have much of a strong nutty flavor. Personally we didnt find anything worthwhile coming back here for.

GREAT PLACE!!
The espresso martini (with a little chocolate syrup added) was DELICIOUS!!
The food overall was really good!!
The calamari was good but a little chewy.
The veggie pasta and the fish tacos were both delicious!!
The atmosphere was nice, and they were accommodating when it came to changing the channel to the Olympics.
Our waiter, Gilbert was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, he was so friendly and took such great care of us!!
Great brewery with awesome staff. Excellent customer service from Monique and Gilbert. Amazing beer and drinks. Highly recommend to the community.
Good beer, great food, and a chill atmosphere.
Nice service nice quality food.
Thank you so much for your service Brianna !!?
This has been one of my favorite places to eat for the last couple of years, but today the service was absolutely atrocious. The host at the front looked confused and offended when we asked for a table, he could barely get the words out as he put the menus on the table and walked away. We sat ther for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement from any server, not even an offer for drinks.
Ended up walking out without a server or the host even bothering to acknowledge us. What a letdown from an establishment that had previously set such a good standard for service and quality.
