We went to Strings in Visalia for my mother-in-law’s birthday, and unfortunately the experience wasn’t great. My wife and I normally share a meal because I’ve had weight-loss surgery and can only eat a few bites. We’ve never had an issue before, at any other restaurants, but this time we were charged a $10.99 sharing fee for this one. The waitress never mentioned the charge ahead of time. Yes, it’s written at the bottom of the menu, but it would’ve been helpful if she had explained it when we ordered — especially since I could’ve chosen an appetizer instead and actually gotten something out of paying extra.
On top of that, we asked if they did anything for birthdays, and the waitress told us no — not even a simple “happy birthday.” So we ended up singing to my mother-in-law ourselves at the table.
Overall, the service and communication made it a disappointing visit, especially for a special occasion. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning, and they’ve lost a customer.

Stopped in on a whim after hiking from sequoia. Food is very good. I would not pass up on this place. Chicken Parmesan was juicy, salmon was cooked well and flavored well. Pasta was tasty.

On October 25,2025 Strings catered my son’s wedding reception dinner. A day later EVERYONE who attended the reception became VERY ill from the food. This is unacceptable and should never happen to anyone else!

Not much to say. The restaurant is nice and a good place to go to enjoy a meal. However, I've been here multiple times. Not because I chose. The food always lacks flavor. Not one time have I not needed to add salt.
Gave 3 stars only because customer service is great. Other than that the food is a 2 out of 5 stars and that's being generous.
