They had run out of prime rib and didnt tell us when we confirmed our reservation or mention that it could run out if that's what we planned to order. They didnt tell us until after we ordered and by then it was too late to go somewhere else that had what we wanted. We dissappointedly ordered the rib eye instead and it was very fatty and burnt too crispy. They also were out of the appetizer we wanted, the ahi tuna. It was a Friday night in summer with a convention in town, I feel like the restaurant should have planned better to not run out of several items. Service was fantastic and cocktails were decent. Food was not great though.

We arrived early and were seated when staffing permitted. Ordered Joe's Steaks and a Spinach and Artichoke Dip appetizer. Excellent service and very good food.

We were traveling to Sequoia NP and stayed in Visalia. We found this place on Open Table where it had good reviews. The ratings were right on. The service was great, the food was excellent and the value was good. The salad proportions were huge and tasty. More than enough for dinner and still have leftovers. Definitely worth your consideration. I will go back if ever in the area.

We've been dining at Tahoe Joe's over the past decade or so. It's sad to see their business has dropped significantly to the point where it does not look like they will last another decade. Great food, even better value.

Didn't have too wait very long , great customer service, always checking if we ended something they were always there for us...

For a steak house, rib eyes are great, sirloin are tough. Don't get the nachos. I went for my calamari and it wasn't great anymore. Best bet, get a burger. Wait staff was amazing.

Great place with great service and food. My son has always loved coming here on Valentine's Day.

Our food took over an hour to arrive, and my baked potato was hard, colder..... not very good at all.

From the moment we first walked in the door, we were greeted & related to very graciously. Seating was provided quickly, followed immediately by waitress contact. Our waitress, Sidney, was very attentive throughout our stay, helping clarify our menu selections. Once ordered, the meal was delivered promptly. Our salads were fresh, & well composed... and even as we were finishing them, the main course was delivered. The food was well composed & good proportions, exactly as ordered, hot, and quite delicious. My order was the Joe's steak- it was a substantial portion, & cooked perfectly! My wife's was chicken, and it too was a good-sized serving.... Enough so that we both enjoyed plenty, plus went home with extra to spare! Sidney graciously furnished us with take-out containers, then even before I could ask, with a handy bag with which to port them securely to our car! Not only did we enjoy the decor & meal, we enjoyed & appreciated the pleasant opportunity to chat with our waitress! The woodsie interior decor, set off beautifully by the interior lighting, gives the space a very compelling vibe. Greeting you as you enter on a chilly evening is a welcoming & charming fireplace & stony surround- putting out substantial warmth! This was also the last aspect of TahoeJoe's you enjoy as you leave.... For me, it beckons me to return- Soon!

We waited an hour after our reservation to be seated. But the food was good and our waitress was trying her hardest to keep up with the amount of tables she had. Good food and good waitress. Just unorganized up front.

This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants when I come in from San Francisco. I have moved away and miss it very much especially their railroad camp shrimp. So we planned a birthday celebration here and the service was great, but I would have to say the food was lacking. We had to ask for bread and butter, which is normally standard and my salad Had mostly brown lettuce which is quite a disappointment. I would hope they would pay more attention in the kitchen because old lettuce is unacceptable.

For my first visit, ao was pleasantly surprised.
It was our back-up choice for the evening since our 1st choice went and screwed us on the wait list. (They aren't going to like my review of them), but ol' Joe came through for us.

Immediate seating, eager staff, food came out quick and was hot. I felt the prices were a tab high though. Party of 3 hit the $170 mark with 3 entrees, and appi, and 2 desserts with no alcohol. The food itself was good though, no real complaint about any of it.

The service, Immediate seating and speed of the order being filled made the evening.
I'd do it again.

My past experiences with tahoe joe have been good. However, at this location, our prime ribs were badly overcooked. We had 12 members, and 4 had to send their plates back. Something we absolutely hate doing, but necessary. Joe's steaks were provided in replacement because they claimed they had run out of prime rib for the night. The steaks were good. Our crab cakes we dry and not very good. The spinach artichoke dip was good! We were offered pie as an apology that we were charged for on our tickets. They comped 1 slice and charged the rest. The waitress was good and seemed hard working. Combined my party spent a good 400$ - I won't be returning to this location.
