the service was mediocre, and most of the food was ok -- however, the beef Wellington was so terrible I would not feed it to my dog. the beef tasted horrifically spoiled, as though it had spent 8 months in a freezer and then left on a counter for several days. It is profoundly shocking that the chef couldn't tell from what I imagine were the most appalling aromas wafting from the oven as it baked. The chef should be ashamed, and perhaps consider a new line of work in something that requires neither olfactory nor gustatory senses.

In many respects, there is much to like here. The view at sunset is wonderful and the restaurant is beautiful inside. We liked the staff.
But it is a restaurant and the food is primary. My wife and I got dressed up for a special event. Unfortunately, the food was not special or memorable. I only remember the bone marrow appitizer, which was good.Not bad, but surely not memorable.
The price was stiff for Visalia, but we knew that going in. The Darling just didn't deliver. I hope they make it, but we will not be back. I recognize that this may be a minority opinion.
Parking: Parking in the rear, but we had to enter from the front.

This place is amazing, the service is outstanding and the food is so delicious!! I have visited about four times now, and it's always consistently wonderful! I'm always ready to go back again!!
I loved the ambiance of this place. We had the best salad and the orange burrata to share, followed by the beef Wellington. WOW!!! It was so delicious and a plethora of flavors in my mouth. The people were great and super attentive.
My only thing (if I could knock off half a star versus a whole star), was that the cocktails were mediocre. I appreciate a great old fashioned and anything with whiskey. The drinks were okay, including the margarita Tuesday drink.
If you are going for food, this is the spot. But for cocktails, I would look for another place.

I came here for the first time on Saturday evening for a birthday, the reservation process online was fairly easy to make and had no issues getting sat. The hotel itself is really cool. It's a clean boutique hotel with great views from the rooftop. The food was amazing and the service was great as well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area
We used Elderwood bar staff & drinks when we had our wedding at The Darling Hotel. This option is apart of their event package! Us and our guest were beyond impressed! The staff chosen to work our wedding did so well and our guest had amazing things to say about their patience & hospitality! Thank you Elderwood!

The bar tenders are amazing and ply their craft expertly. Please be aware, if you are going to have a drink at the bar, they have a policy that you cannot stand in the bar area. I recommend if you are planning to go to have drink that you make reservations at the bar area tables
