Small diner located in a plaza. Very welcoming atmosphere and you can tell they have many regulars. I ordered the Pastrami Burger and sat on their patio. It was quiet and calm, and the burger was huge and very good. Burger, fries, and drink under $20, hard to find these days! Overall very satisfied and worth the drive from Oceanside.

I used to be a regular at Big Jim's when it was new, as I used to work directly across the street and would grab lunch here almost daily. I hadn't been here in years, but my fiance asked me to take him somewhere for lunch and a sandwich sounded lovely. For whatever reason, Big Jim's came to mind and I'm so glad it did! Their food is just as excellent as it was all those years ago. My fiance is also a USMC Vet and was very appreciative of all the patriotic decor...

He's only open for breakfast and lunch. I wish you would stay open later but I believe he works another job at night . Sometimes I'll go and get burgers for dinner at 3:00 when he closes. And just save them in the fridge till dinner time
