Everything we ordered was top-notch. We went with the chicken rice and salad plate, along with a side of hummus and pita bread, and it completely blew us away. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with incredible flavor.
As for the sides, hands down: best hummus and pita bread ever. The pita was warm, fresh, and fluffy, and the hummus was ultra-creamy and bursting with authentic flavor.
What truly sets Corner Grill apart, though, is the heart behind it. During our meal, the owner personally came over to introduce himself. He was one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, and his genuine gratitude for us being there made the experience unforgettable.

“Great place. Great staff, adorable building, good food. If you don’t like the smell of smoke, though, make sure that you’re not going too far into the evening. They have a fire pit going out in front of the restaurant and keep the doors open so the whole restaurant filled with smoke last night.”

“Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!”

“Best pizza ever, in the top 3! I have eaten at one of the top 10 in the USA, and URBN should be there! It is thin crust, so very easy to fold, which you have to because the slices are large. It is coal fired, so the crust is oh so slightly burned which is a must! I can not stress how awesome it is! Fantastic crust, and red sauce. I can not count the number of times I have eaten here. I only get the pepperoni. The only thing missing is a pinball machine and juke box! Small but have never had to wait for a place to sit. I am guessing there are 10-12 tables, and a large table in the back to accommodate a group of 10 and maybe more. A large pie will feed 3 adults.”

Though I have to point out that their tipping system is highly sketch - it's one thing that the default tip amounts start at 20%, to each their own but if you're there during happy hour, the terminal will still calculate your tipping amounts based on the full price total instead of the happy hour one. Now I'm not stingy when it comes to tipping, but I also really dislike misdirection.”

The hostess/waitress was genuine and polite. I actually felt like she was happy to serve us. My associate ordered the Panang curry with chicken while I went for the Pad Thai with chicken- spicy level 10/10. It actually had a kick! Rarely am I challenged by heat, but the dish was flavorful, plated attractively and a fully portioned. Next time I’m in the mood for Thai food, I’ll certainly be coming back!”

Ohana Melrose is truly a hidden gem! My family and I have consistently had great experiences here, from the delicious food to the friendly and attentive service.

They offer a great variety of tasty options, and some of our family favorites include the BBQ Mix Plate and Chicken Katsu. I especially enjoy their fish tacos—they are absolutely delicious!

The only thing I would mention is that the prices have increased over time. However, given the rising cost of living and the quality of the food and service, it’s understandable.

Overall, we’ve had consistently positive experiences at Ohana Melrose. The food is delicious, the service is welcoming, and there are plenty of options for the whole family. We’ll definitely continue coming back and supporting this local restaurant. If you haven’t tried Ohana Melrose yet, I definitely recommend giving them a try!”

Fortunately for me, this place exists.Dutch bros seems to have just lost all its because they try expanding so fast, and the coffee quality has gone down.

Not bringing it back to this coffee location. I hate to say it's so amazing because then everybody's gonna wanna come here. But the service is amazing. The coffee comes out as fast as possible. So one person in there, making all the coffee sometimes. If you make an order of 3 or 4, you know, they gotta do what they can as fast as they can. But at least the people there have service with a smile. Aliso She's the same one I usually see. Working Hard everything i come.her coffee comes out. Amazing, it's still good when the others make it. But it seems like she is specifically the expert. She worked yesterday afternoon and it was amazing. 10 out of 10 would come back again. Highly recommend it

“I got strawberry french toast w/mixed berry drizzle, eggs over-med and crispy bacon. Made as requested, to my liking. The restaurant is very clean, the berries fresh. Delicious & Very pleased! Dropped my car at Discount Tire & it was only an 8 minute walk. Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch.”

That said, food was a tad slow coming out for how quiet it was, and I just can't get over the price. x1 each Burger + tots + beer = $45 w/ 15% tip. Hard to make that argument w/ so many other good spots near by delivering comparable food/experience at a lower price.”

“I’m so glad I stumbled on this little Mexican spot! First good meal I’ve had in a while. 🥰 Super welcoming people and the food was very flavorful— the chicken burrito was delicious. Love the relaxed, family-run vibe, with the cook singing in the kitchen and everyone seeming happy. 😊 Including the little adorable kid hanging out with his grandma and making goofy faces with me. Equally nice to have The Lost Abbey in their own space in Vista again. Plenty of space to stretch out. The beer is as good as ever, with plenty on the menu. The pinball games are a nice and affordable addition for entertainment. BYO food most days.

Great to have a Lost Abbey off the 78 again! Always a treat to have their top tier Belgians on tap. Even saw Cuvee de Tomme and Duck Duck Gose there. They also have newer IPA options. Shared space with the original building owners, Mother Earth with their classic and experimental American styles. Beers average $8. NA drinks in cans. Minimal snacks. No frills, one stop brewery.”

“Oh My gosh where do I even start , I am someone who loves Jamaican and Filipino and to discover this place was like a dream come true , this place is a perfect fusion of Filipino and Jamaican food alike and I was blown away by not only the food but the portions and prices were just right , the employees here were very welcoming and very very nice , this restaurant was so clean as well , I will be returning ASAP !!!! “We eat here everytime we visit the leucadia farmers market without fail. The mulitas are exceptional and my kids are obsessed with the tacos. We are gluten free also and can't believe the food being served is vegan as well. The guys are so friendly and the little helpers are a cute bonus. The food doesn't get much better in SD and I'm already looking forward to the next visit.”
