I hate to give a not good review. But my family and I were very excited to try this place. My 9 year old daughter tried her Oreo slush first and she said mom, it tastes like water, it’s not very tasty at all. I thought she’s only being picky but then I tried mine my Cheesy Ube Slush too and I feel the same way. So as my husband. We ordered them around 7pm. Maybe we just got there at the wrong time. My husband said he feels like we wasted our $20. Just so sad it’s not as tasty as we were hoping for.”

“We had a luncheon here after my husband’s funeral. We booked a banquet room for 75-100 people. Gwen was amazing! The room, the tables, service, bartender & the food, everything was perfect. We added a few pizzas when we got there & again, it was no problem. This was a really tuff day for our family and friends and Ciao’s team, especially Gwen, helped us to celebrate a beautiful man and a life well lived. Highly recommend for your special event.

“Friday, July 24th. The happy hour drinks weren't that good. They were watered down and the drinks weren't made right. The bartender possibly doesn't have enough experience. Their house wine wasn't tasty as well. But, the food wasn't too bad. I probably would choose a different spot around main street in Vista like Mikko sushi, best pizza or belching beaver on my next hangout.”

“Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!”

“I was very surprised by this place and its food. The calamari was fried just perfect and the Greek Salad was wonderful which had just enough feta cheese unlike other places.

The manager on Friday was very welcoming to our group of 10 and very accommodating, he also personally took care of us. We sat outside on the picnic tables, the evening weather was just perfect and the music was jamming.

The hostess/waitress was genuine and polite. I actually felt like she was happy to serve us. My associate ordered the Panang curry with chicken while I went for the Pad Thai with chicken- spicy level 10/10. It actually had a kick! Rarely am I challenged by heat, but the dish was flavorful, plated attractively and a fully portioned. Next time I’m in the mood for Thai food, I’ll certainly be coming back!”

I asked for fruit instead of hash browns and was so totally pleased with the fruit dish! BlackBerry, mango slice, strawberries, blueberries, grapes and even a bite of small orange! Fresh and dished beautifully. And...my over medium eggs were cooked perfectly! That is often a toss up! The patio table out front was well shaded and very comfortable. The service was in target and pleasant! Three, no four exclamation points equals a five star place all the way around!”

“This is a cute little amd cozy coffee shop. I trued a seasonal latte their bourbon and Maple. It was delicious and rhe syrup is low sugar and made in house.
There is very limited seating inside. At the time I went I was able to find a seat as there was only ine other person sitting inside. I wasnt going to hang out. I just needed coffee stat.
The woman at the counter was sweet and I had read about the ginger coffee which she let me know was seasonal and not available so I asked her for a recommendation and she suggested the Borbon and Maple and that was warming and richly flavored. Not overly sweet which I find perfect and the bourbon and maple sugar are melted down amd it gives a wonderfully unique flavor that is both warm and comforting and wakes you up. When I return to the area I will definitely hit Cosmic Bloom coffee again.”

The pizza itself was extremely delicious. We got 2 small pizzas and both were delicious. Crust is fluffy yet crispy, they were cheesy with just the right amount of sauce. The barbacoa Taco was one of the best things I've ever eaten!
(It's made from lamb meat and as a Greek, I know good lamb ...and this is some of the best!).
The owner is an absolute sweetheart, and gave me a complementary Aguas Frescas to try. The green one was out of this world yummy!

Ohana Melrose is truly a hidden gem! My family and I have consistently had great experiences here, from the delicious food to the friendly and attentive service.

They offer a great variety of tasty options, and some of our family favorites include the BBQ Mix Plate and Chicken Katsu. I especially enjoy their fish tacos—they are absolutely delicious!

The only thing I would mention is that the prices have increased over time. However, given the rising cost of living and the quality of the food and service, it’s understandable.

Overall, we’ve had consistently positive experiences at Ohana Melrose. The food is delicious, the service is welcoming, and there are plenty of options for the whole family. We’ll definitely continue coming back and supporting this local restaurant. If you haven’t tried Ohana Melrose yet, I definitely recommend giving them a try!”

Not only that but they don’t even carry Parmesan or red pepper upon delivery. They probly charge extra for that too. Wow! Yesterday my husband and I stopped by at noon to pick up 3 dozens of donuts to take to our cousins viewing in Tj. We told this to the lady helping us, then she said "wait, let me give you something!" That said, food was a tad slow coming out for how quiet it was, and I just can't get over the price. x1 each Burger + tots + beer = $45 w/ 15% tip. Hard to make that argument w/ so many other good spots near by delivering comparable food/experience at a lower price.”

“I’m so glad I stumbled on this little Mexican spot! First good meal I’ve had in a while. 🥰 Super welcoming people and the food was very flavorful— the chicken burrito was delicious. Love the relaxed, family-run vibe, with the cook singing in the kitchen and everyone seeming happy. 😊 Including the little adorable kid hanging out with his grandma and making goofy faces with me. Very kind and hospitable server girl and comfy seating. A place that makes you feel at home. 💕”

Equally nice to have The Lost Abbey in their own space in Vista again. Plenty of space to stretch out. The beer is as good as ever, with plenty on the menu. The pinball games are a nice and affordable addition for entertainment. BYO food most days.

Great to have a Lost Abbey off the 78 again! Always a treat to have their top tier Belgians on tap. Even saw Cuvee de Tomme and Duck Duck Gose there. They also have newer IPA options. Shared space with the original building owners, Mother Earth with their classic and experimental American styles. Beers average $8. NA drinks in cans. Minimal snacks. No frills, one stop brewery.”

“Burgeon at the Grove has quickly become our spot. The beer selection is fantastic. My favorite is the Amber Ale. Service is consistently friendly and very welcoming, and on a super hot day, they have very strong A/C!
On our latest visit, we sat near the community board games and puzzles (these are a huge plus!). We got to spend some good quality time together (screen free!). We had such a great time sampling all the different beers while we doing puzzles together, kids coloring, and board games. It’s rare to find a place that balances top-notch craft beer with such a welcoming, family-friendly vibe. We all really enjoyed ourselves!
The atmosphere is laid-back, modern, and comfortable—perfect whether you’re here with family, friends, or just looking to relax with a great beer.

“Drove by coming from Costco and saw the place. I ordered halo-halo since it’s really hot outside and I was shock when they gave me my halo halo. It’s loaded with so much toppings, lots of Ube ice cream, leche plans and even comes with wafer. I highly recommend it.
