“A buddy of mine took me to this small joint Mexican restaurant in Vista. We both order Cani Asada burrito ?. The cashier lady is super friendly. The burrito is tasty and made just the way it should be. Meat, Fresca salsa, quacamole.! No BS rice and bean. Another bonus is chips and salsa included with your order.
Being away from San Diego for so long and unable to find a decent Mexican restaurant with authentic foods. This place hit all the spots.
Wish the meat a little bit rare, but I am satisfied with the meal. I definitely will stop by again when I am in the area. ??“

“The food is always great as well as the service! Carmen is the sweetest. She comes out and talks to the guests and always makes sure they are happy and feel welcomed. I have tried something new every visit, an have not been let done at all. We have tried to visit there once a week for the last 3-4 months, and will continue as long as we can.“

“I've been coming to this place for years, recently it was sold to different management and I thought the quality was going to go down. Quite the opposite, the food has gotten so much better.Mariscos are really good, fresh flavor. Salsas are better than most places, they're actually flavorful and spicy. “Absolutely stunning authentic Mexican food I ordered the fish taco and carbs asada taco and was shocked with the high level of ingredients and original flavors. The fish tacos batter had the perfect ratio and the fish was cooked wonderfully and the carbs asada taco had high quality steak with great tortillas and overall excellent Mexican food.“

“Excellent food, the chicken tacos are served with just the tortilla and meat, but the diy aspect of the salad bar is awesome because you can put as much or as little of the toppings as you want! The salsas were all good and the bar has limes and pickles carrots and cucumbers as well. The tacos were insanely cheap but super delicious, I will definitely be returning“

“Amazing service. Staff was very friendly. I ordered a cabeza burrito and it’s honestly some of the best cabeza I’ve ever had. I also like taco shops that don’t stuff their burritos with too much rice and beans. In fact, the burrito I got was just meat, onion in cilantro. Just the way I like it! I definitely recommend this place. The diner was also cozy. Padded seats and it was cool inside. Definitely my new go to spot when I’m working in vista!“

“The food is very good, the customer service is good except for a young woman who serves you with a despotic and unfriendly air, (as if she were scolding you or something like that) reference: she wears a pair of pigtails. Be careful guys from La Gordita. Check that element that is speaking badly of you for your lack of kindness.“

“Got the combo carne asada plate. Somewhat hard to order, the older gentleman taking my order seemed to have trouble hearing over the noise of the TVs. No pico or other salsa came with the plate so make sure to ask for some - I didn't get any.They don't have fountain drinks or cups of water.Lots of big TVs if that's your thing. Clean tables - no booths. Came in a ~7:30 on a Sunday night and the kitchen was full but the dining room empty, except a few people waiting on takeout. Wait for food was about 15 minutes. If I eat here again I will order online and ask for salsa!The the tortillas are so fresh you can watch them make them from scratch. Carne asada was delicious.“

“Loved this place so much we went back the next day! My husband loves menudo and we have been to at least 8 different Mexican restaurants in Southern California trying it when we visit. This restaurant is The Best! You can tell by the rich color of the broth that you are in for a treat. They use the best quality ingredients and cook it to perfection. I had the Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles and they did not disappoint. The waiter is friendly and attentive and the cook is wonderfully humble when complimented. This is where we’ll go on every visit!“

Ordered a Machaca breakfast burrito. Must try! Growing up in a Mexican household, the salsas make or break my experience at a local spot like this one. Both the red and green salsas here made Erika’s earn a spot on my list of go-to’s. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu, especially the menudo.“

Just by standing waiting to oder your head may be spinning when you see what other people order. Everything served fresh not from frozen stock. I have tried several dishes not mainstream and enjoyed each and everyone of them. Pricing not outrageous yet and wait time usually less than 10 min depending on time of day. Take out is preferred..“

“This is the best Rubios in the County. The food is fresh. The fish is always moist and tender, whereas other Rubios tend to overcook their food, and it is too dry. We go out of our way to return to this one. The manager and crew are very friendly.“

“I was just looking for a wings place, I did not expect such a varied menu. I ordered the carne asada fries, the chipotle fries, buffalo wings, and a carnitas quesadilla. Everybody loved their food!

I had the quesadilla and this may be my second favorite carnitas. Well seasoned, soft, and not oily. I also had some of the chipotle fries. Everybody was right, they were amazing.

It's criminal that there wasn't a line out the door. The prices were reasonable and service was very quick. We definitely will be visiting again.“

“Seemed to be authentic Oaxaquenian food. I had a one-meat Tlayuda, like a huge tostada of refried beans, shredded lettuce, lots of shredded Quesilla cheese and a bit of guacamole. Also a smallish piece of grilled beef that was tender but very dry like jerky. The salsa was flavorful and on the hot side. The dish was OK but I probably wouldn't order it again. Also tried a couple things from the bakery side and they were fresh and tasty. Service was good. Bathroom was clean. Seemed like the servers and most of the customers spoke Spanish. If I was in the neighborhood again I'd stop in and try something else. Since other reviews mention waiting too long for the food to arrive, I should say the food came in a very reasonable time.“
