“I’ve been to multiple Mediterranean style shops around town. Specifically in north county. This remains my top choice by a far margin. The chicken and beef kabobs are always cooked to perfection. I make it a habit to come here weekly. The owner is kind and cares deeply about his customers and the level of service. Oh, and the portions are generous too!“

“Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!“

“Our favorite local winery! And our only current wine club membership (the wines are that good!). The tasting room with the outdoor seating area is chill and a great place to unwind and have a glass or two while listening to live music on the weekends. They have other fun events every month, too. Dog friendly and people friendly, too! The staff are so sweet and welcoming. We love that it’s off the beaten path and unexpected to find in an industrial area in Vista. Pit this one on your list to check out.“

“I was very surprised by this place and its food. The calamari was fried just perfect and the Greek Salad was wonderful which had just enough feta cheese unlike other places.

The manager on Friday was very welcoming to our group of 10 and very accommodating, he also personally took care of us. We sat outside on the picnic tables, the evening weather was just perfect and the music was jamming.

Our group will definitely be returning for another fun evening. 🍕🥗🍺“

“Ordered DoorDash and the food came hot a hit my Thai food craving. Pad see ew noodles were cooked well, spicier than what my husband and I were expecting though but still very good. Husband had the pad Thai, it was a bit too sweet for our taste. Both ordered Thai teas, these were enormous. Entrees and drink both lasted two servings.“

“We had a delicious and wonderful experience at Giovanettis. We were welcomed in to the restaurant with a smile and friendly Hostess who later went over the daily specials with passion. Her passion for the food and the description of each dish was inspiring.
Our server was great - turned us on to a delicious wine from Sicily which was surprisingly reasonably priced. I had the Salmon alla checca. Wow was this delicious! The Salmon was cooked perfectly and the pasta had a fresh tomato, garlic, basil topping, light on the oil. This was a perfect dish. Prior to the pasta we started with a salad and bread - The salad was fresh, crisp, flavorful with a yummy light dressing and the bread was served with real butter, not whipped or altered just real butter - delicious.
Service was impeccable and the food outstanding. We are new regulars!“

“The owner Louie is incredibly kind. He is not only attentive, but he is clearly passionate about making sure customers come in happy and leave satisfied. We had issues with coupons and he was more than helpful in making sure we were taken care of. When we had an issue, he reached out personally to fix the problem. The pizza itself was extremely delicious. We got 2 small pizzas and both were delicious. Crust is fluffy yet crispy, they were cheesy with just the right amount of sauce. Ranch on the side was a large portion and delicious. We came in hoping for a good experience and left having one better than expected. Thank you, Louie! Your pizza spot is a total gem.“

Ohana Melrose is truly a hidden gem! My family and I have consistently had great experiences here, from the delicious food to the friendly and attentive service.

They offer a great variety of tasty options, and some of our family favorites include the BBQ Mix Plate and Chicken Katsu. I especially enjoy their fish tacos—they are absolutely delicious!

The only thing I would mention is that the prices have increased over time. However, given the rising cost of living and the quality of the food and service, it’s understandable.

Overall, we’ve had consistently positive experiences at Ohana Melrose. The food is delicious, the service is welcoming, and there are plenty of options for the whole family. We’ll definitely continue coming back and supporting this local restaurant. If you haven’t tried Ohana Melrose yet, I definitely recommend giving them a try!“

“We LOVE ourselves some Chef Tangs! From the first visit, we identified a superb atmosphere to enjoy fresh, quality food with great pricing. If you like spicy, you cannot pass on their hot and spicy soup. We have turned on several friends to that dish alone! We have also dabbled with most of their chicken and beef dishes; all have been fantastic! The owner, Lee, is an outstanding guy. Always amazing service with a smile. “I was just looking for a wings place, I did not expect such a varied menu. I ordered the carne asada fries, the chipotle fries, buffalo wings, and a carnitas quesadilla. Everybody loved their food!

I had the quesadilla and this may be my second favorite carnitas. Well seasoned, soft, and not oily. I also had some of the chipotle fries. Everybody was right, they were amazing.

It's criminal that there wasn't a line out the door. The prices were reasonable and service was very quick. We definitely will be visiting again.“

“Had a really nice experience during my first visit. I completely misread the menu and ordered a green chile chilaquiles burrito. It’s not a menu item but they didn’t turn down my request or even say it wasn’t on the menu; they just made it! I only realized afterwards that it was not a menu item but the burrito was delicious! All the ingredients were fresh, the rice was very flavorful and well seasoned and overall very enjoyable. I’d definitely go back to try more stuff. It was really nice of them to make me an item that wasn’t even on their menu and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.“

We had an amazing experience at this family restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious—everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The customer service was outstanding; everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. On top of that, the wait time was practically nonexistent, which made the experience even better. It's not often you find great food, excellent service, and fast seating all in one place. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!“
