Tiramisu is very good and perfect, and it tasted like home made with a balance of cream and bread. The strawberry cheesecake gelato is a must try too!!“

Husband had the pad Thai, it was a bit too sweet for our taste. Both ordered Thai teas, these were enormous. Entrees and drink both lasted two servings.“

“Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!“

“I was very surprised by this place and its food. The calamari was fried just perfect and the Greek Salad was wonderful which had just enough feta cheese unlike other places.

The manager on Friday was very welcoming to our group of 10 and very accommodating, he also personally took care of us. We sat outside on the picnic tables, the evening weather was just perfect and the music was jamming.

Our group will definitely be returning for another fun evening. 🍕🥗🍺“

“This is where my wife and I met on our first date . It holds significant emotional meaning but it's also simply amazing food. we never have any issue and we bring family and friends here often.“

“This Handel's location is so perfect, as my kids have frequented it after we've watched shows at the AVO, as well as when they were actual performers at the AVO. That being said, the line can get pretty long after a performance. However, the staff moved through customers quickly, and our latest cashier, Briana, was so kind. She made sure we felt important and apologized for the long line (even though it wasn't her fault). She was patient when my youngest still could not decide on a treat even after waiting for so long. She made the stress a mom could feel after the experience in a long line with young ones feel minimal with her empathetic care for us. Handel's is lucky to have her representing their business. And I would recommend coming to this Handel's whenever you come to downtown Vista and watch a show at the AVO.“

“Met the owner and his family on the train going toward Encinitas and they were some of the coolest train folk I’ve ever met. They were kind enough to give me and my partner a free box of their grand slam pizza (which we both devoured due to the deliciousness.) I think it’s safe to say that, that was some of the best pizza I’ve ever had on a train before. Or ever. I’m not located in vista whatsoever, however, I’d make a 2 hour trip to grand slam solely to get another taste of that pizza. (And ranch!) I never got the owners name unfortunately, but me and my partner were very grateful for your kindness and pizza that day. Hope to visit grand slam soon!!“

“I would give a 4.5 if I could, but can’t give a 5 because the blacked mahi was a bit over-seasoned, making it a bit too salty.
Portions were awesome, food and toppings were fresh. Probably the best Rubio’s we’ve had except for the mahi seasoning.
The temp in the store was a bit cool, and it was one of these very warm (80) days in the area.“

If you like spicy, you cannot pass on their hot and spicy soup. We have turned on several friends to that dish alone! We have also dabbled with most of their chicken and beef dishes; all have been fantastic! The owner, Lee, is an outstanding guy. Always amazing service with a smile. “It was a pleasure to work with Laura, and the cakes she created for my daughter's weddng were spectacular!

The 4-tier wedding cake was stunning and exactly what my daughter envisioned. Laura also made a darling little birthday cake for my granddaughter (whose 1st birthday was the day of the wedding) - it was a perfect complement to the wedding cake.

The cakes themselves were beyond delicious. I lost count of how many of our guests said, “I never bother with wedding cake, but everyone keeps saying how good these cakes are, so I have to have a slice.” One friend had four slices of the strawberry cake alone!

“I had dinner at Bombay Cafe and overall had a good experience. The food was fresh and flavorful, though I do wish they had included more chicken in the curry. The service was great staff were attentive and friendly.

The only downside was the atmosphere. It felt quite warm inside, and without the AC running, it became uncomfortable almost like a sauna. I found myself sweating after my meal.

Overall, a nice place for fresh food and good service, but improving the temperature inside would make the experience much better.“

“My favorite sports bar to meet friends! And my puppy is welcome in the outside dining area. Oggi's has an extensive casual menu of fresh salads, specialty pizzas, burgers and gluten-free, healthy options that pair perfectly with craft beer and cocktails. The garlic knots bread appetizer is so YUM! Definitely order the larger portion size. I like the option of ordering Half or Full portion size for most dishes. Service was friendly and attentive. On top of that, the wait time was practically nonexistent, which made the experience even better. It's not often you find great food, excellent service, and fast seating all in one place.
