I used to eat out 3, 4 times weekly. Not anymore. So, when I do get takeout, I always hope for it to be good (and the 4 star review would indicate it would be.) I knew it would be around $60 (it was) for 3 entrees and some naan. (They were out of Raita--Saturday night, an Indian restaurant?) But, I love Indian food and there is no choice in Fallbrook. So my son drove over to Vista and brought it home for us. Is this a style of Indian cooking I've never heard of? The Butter Chicken (Chicken Korma) and the Vegetable Korma were sweet! Sweet like southern sweet tea is compared to unsweetened tea. The naan seemed to be soaked in oil/grease. I just don't get the other reviews. Ugh. Never again.

Very good. I could make a meal out of their Coconut Nan bread. Fresh baked right out of the oven. Amazing good ! I had the shrimp tikka masala. Excellent. we were a party of seven and everyone was happy.

My family and I came to this place last weekend. First red flag was when the waitress brought some waters she only brought 2 even though there were 3 of us. I thought because the third one was a child she would bring a plastic cup instead of a glass cup. We waited for a solid minute before we realized she wasnt coming back. While we were waiting to be served they were just standing there never came to get our order. I was starting to feel unwelcome to the point where i just left. Idk if it was bc we had a kid or because we were the only people of color in the establishment. Or both. But I will never set foot in here ever again.

Calm relaxing environment, service was great and the food was incredible. You can also watch them make and cook the naan fresh. I got the chicken tikka masala (butter chicken).

If you want home cooking and good Indian food in one place, this is where you go. A small family team that make their own spice blend for their curies. They take their time and it is worth the wait. My family and I have been going here for 10+ years. Never disappointed. Great local eatery in Vista.

I have ordered several times for pickup. The food takes slightly longer because it is prepared to order. I feel the restaurant is more suited to takeout. The only thing I wasn't impressed with food wise were vegetable pakoras. And I don't blame the restaurant. Fried food to go never stands up as well and I'm also very food finicky. The naan, curries, and rice I have tried were very enjoyable. I will definitely order again. Obviously, the business is family owned and operated, and I love to shop local.

Amazing! Best Indian food I've ever had! They are so nice and friendly. It feels like you're eating genuine Indian food in their house with them.

Family business with nice people, but horrible food. Got a chicken tikka masala and chicken mehkani and both were weirdly sweet and tasted nothing like the traditional dish les should have. It's almost like a brown sugar taste, super weird. Both also barely had any chicken. They also charge separately for rice, which made zero sense to me. Not good food at all, would not recommend, and would never return.

Overall the food was really solid and the staff was very friendly. However, the ambiance was in serious need of an upgrade and the food was way too expensive considering the below. To start off, the lights were off (during the day) which is fine with the sunlight but it made the restaurant vibe feel drab and cavernous. Also, there were crumbs and small pieces of food all over the floor. Not a good sign of a restaurant that practices proper cleanliness—hopefully this isn't a peek into what goes on in the kitchen. And finally, there's a gym next door that was blasting techno—bass was bumping thru the walls—which only degraded the experience. They should at least have some music on to help counter the hideous noise coming from next door and to liven up the atmosphere.Hopefully Bombay Cafe will read this post. I feel they have great potential considering the food was on point. Vista is hugely lacking when it comes to quality food that's not McD, Dunk'n or some other horrid establishment that only contributes to the detriment of one's health. That said, I hope Bombay Cafe flourishes to help counter the competition.
