Chef Tang’s delivers exactly what you hope for in a great neighborhood Chinese restaurant—fresh food, warm service, and consistency.
We ordered the orange peel chicken, moo shu pork, pineapple curry fried rice, and vegetable egg rolls—everything arrived hot, fresh, and perfectly prepared with excellent flavor and balance.
The soups were outstanding. The wonton soup was delicious and generously loaded with wontons, not skimpy at all. I also had the hot and sour soup, which had amazing depth of flavor with the perfect amount of heat—bold but never overpowering.
Drinks were equally well done. The Sapporo draft beer was icy cold and poured perfectly, and the hot tea selection (three choices) was served in a beautiful cast-iron teapot, a really nice touch.
Service stood out. Lee, our server, was constantly moving, checking in, and anticipating what we needed without ever being intrusive. His father—the chef—was equally impressive, and you can clearly feel the pride and experience behind the food.
The restaurant itself is very clean, including the kitchen. The temperature was comfortable, and there’s plenty of space with multiple seating options—tables, booths, and even bar seating. Ample free parking makes it easy.
Family-owned and operated, and it shows in the care they put into everything. They also specialize in takeout, which is clearly a big part of their success.
A great neighborhood restaurant—easy to recommend and easy to return to.

From the boss to the staff, they are all doing their best to serve every customer. They have been here for a long time. The boss's wish is to have a long-term business. He will not let any customer down. I have to give them 5 stars 💫.

I ordered takeout and ended up waiting 20–30 minutes just to get my food. Terrible organization, complete waste of time. Not recommended.

I ordered to go service and we had to ask for fortune cookies after the person gave us our food. The orange chicken we received was not tasty at all. The sauce they had was runny and old tasting. I'm not trying to be mean, though it tasted old. The nastiest orange chicken I have ever had around here. This goes with the orange chicken you get at the fast food orange chicken at the resturant next to the grocery outlet in san marcos. IYNYN. The chicken choy mein was very bland. I did not even want to finish it, and I didn't. I will not come back here. Ther other reviews lied about how tasty the food is here. Period.

I tried the carb cheese wontons and they were so creamy and fresh. the waiter was so kind and helpful. Happy hour food and drinks are very affordable. Has a very nice atmosphere. :)

Lee and Jason greeted us with a wonderful smile upon arrival and the food was so fresh and sooooo good! The food was brought in large portions and are very affordable. Great place to stop by for lunch.
